Chilly and lacking in the little things. We had high reminiscent hopes for this place, having stayed here 15 years ago. We had called ahead to advise we were running an hour late after the scheduled check in time, and the management staff were very friendly and professional. We checked into our five person chalet. The staff had not accommodated our children, so apologized, handed us the linen to make their beds late at night and accordingly charged us $25 per child, per night for this privilege. (But no extra soap, shampoo or toilet paper provided, we just went pot and bought more toilet paper, two rolls not enough for 5 people for 3 nights). Although seemingly cozy, the chalet was bitterly cold and damp, and we were told to just put the reverse split system heater on. (Would have been lovely if theyd heated this up for us... they knew were were arriving). The Master bedroom downstairs does not get heated up or have heating so it was like a freezer. The Reverse heater must be turned off when you leave the chalet at anytime - the front door key is secured to the heater key ignition so you dont have a choice). Theres a log fire inside, however there were minimal fire lighters and a laundry buckets worth of wood supplied... (equivalent to 2 hours worth of log fire burning). Anything after is $5 each bucket. There was also no oven in our chalet, so that was tricky with a few food items wed bought. An abrupt sign over the sink, makes you wash those dishes and commands you put these away unless you want to be charged $60 upon checkout to your credit card. If you have young or older kids, this place is very limited in space inside and outdoor. Although seemingly lush and spacious, the green fields these look out onto are fenced off for no good reason. There is no livestock. Our kids played on the driveway with the visitors cars passing frequently. We could have asked for a refund as wed originally booked over a COVID period of restricted travel, however instead postponed and even extended our stay to support local WA business. We did kindly did provide them this feedback, but the managers just took some notes. Its been a month now so Im confident that this was not addressed any further. Overall, look for another place. This one needs many things tweaked for a more comfortable experience all round.

Has great potentialWe really wanted to like this place as it is close to town and in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately the lack of cleanliness let this place down. Without being dramatic, the chalet was infested with bugs and spiders, and had new and old spider webs visible throughout. 3 out of the 5 nights I encountered wolf spiders who had taken up residence, and there were cockroaches, ants and beetles throughout. It needs a thorough cleaning and bug bombing, and led to an uncomfortable and nerve racking stay. The glasses were filthy which is a testament to why the previous customers should not be relied upon to clean the dishes for the next occupants. The heater was handy. Wi-fi would have been great as phone reception was very poor to non-existent (with Telstra), and the bed was comfortable. The room was not serviced for the entire 5 nights we were there, which appears to be their policy. This was surprising as the amount we paid for our stay really should have included this service. I would have liked to say more good things about this place, but the negative overshadowed the good for us and overall we were left disappointed by things that are well within the control of the owners/managers, and therefore we will look for other accomodation for our next stay.

Great few days at Karma ChaletsWe stayed at Karma Chalets for four nights, in the Harmony Chalet. Communication with Karma Chalets was really good, they answered every email I sent and I kept them up to date with our arrival time. Upon arrival, I noticed the Chalets are in a breathtaking location and I couldnt have been happier with the location (approximately five kilometres out of Denmark). I spoke with Lorraine (owner) and collected the keys to the Chalet from the reception/ office. She was very accommodating and polite and was the perfect host. There is also a selection of DVDs in the reception/ office area thats free to use to keep the children entertained. The Chalet itself was overlooking beautiful hills and scenery and there is ample place to park vehicles. Inside the Chalet there is a kitchen/ dinning room and living room (open plan) downstairs along with a bedroom, toilet and bathroom. Upstairs there was a further bedroom and an open living area which would normally be used as another bedroom. Inside the Chalet there was everything you could thing of in regards to cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, washing machine, microwave and cleaning products including toilet rolls. The only negative I have was there was no big drinking glasses (beer glasses). There was a barbecue on the balcony which is gas powered and worked well and a bird feeder which I thought was a nice touch with bird feed and every morning we could see the birds coming up onto the balcony area to get the feed. I even saw kangaroos out by my Chalet on a couple of the mornings. The Chalet was cosy and my partner even said to me how relaxed she was when she was at the Chalet. The bedrooms were big enough and had plenty of room to accommodate clothing and suitcases. We usually sleep in a king size bed and at the Chalet it was only a double which took a bit of getting used to. I would have liked at least a queen size bed in the Chalet. The Chalet was warm, there is a heater and a wood burner which was a nice touch, we couldnt use it due to it being summer but would suspect it would add to the cosiness of the Chalet when it was working. The bathroom had a spa bath which was nice, giving beautiful views over the hills when sat it in it. I genuinely couldnt fault the Chalet, it was clean, tidy and well presented. I would stop there again and would recommend it to other people. If I had to comment on anything it would be that the Chalets are getting old and look a little tired. Nice touches would be putting in queen sized beds, putting in a new bathroom (rain forest showers), comfortable seating for when you wish to sit on the balcony (maybe even a hammock) and just giving it a general update. This still ticked all the boxes for us and it was a very good stay. I highly recommend if you are looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful part of Denmark.

Amazing tranquilityWifey and I just returned from a fabulous 4 nights at Karma Chalets, Denmark, staying in the Zen cottage. A chalet on stilts, perched high on a hillside with views to Wilson Inlet and the Southern Ocean beyond. Self-contained and very well appointed, the chalet had a lovely Easterly aspect, overlooking a fabulous vineyard and winery. With books and DVD's available on site, we wanted for absolutely nothing during our stay. Thank you Karma Chalets, and the great town of Denmark.
