  Ideal if you are seeing the sights rather than staying in your room.

  The proximity to the event I was attending at HOTA was Ideal. The room was smallish but adequate and had a well appointed kitchen and laundrette. The room that we were in was really outdated and didn't feel very clean at all. I found the bed to be too firm for me and the small air conditioner in the room wasnt very effective in regulating the temperature. Being in a semi residential area meant we could hear loud music from the property next door which was super annoying. Didn't feel comfortable (physically or mentally) staying here. PROTIP: This is definitely not a "Resort" - more like self contained apartments.

  Disgusting & filthy

  I stayed from March 5-11 in unit 210 and its was disgusting. Floors filthy, long black hair throughout, air conditioners that hardly work, Stove top that only half the elements working, dryer that overheats after 5 min so you cant dry anything. I actually let the unit cleaner then I rented it. The place is a slum and needed a facet years ago. Please see my pictures.

  I think the photos tell the story. Contemptible lack of cleanliness and pride in an investment. We washed the blankets. The water was black. Could write a novel of defects. Reception was friendly and helpful. She gave the impression that she could not do more as the individual owners were not prepared to spend. Not sure what to believe.

  Never again

  This place has made the companys Do Not Book list Not overly clean Curtains torn Tv remote on/off button did not work But the deal breaker... the shower Water pressure was virtually non existent And what was there was either hot or cold

  Cheap and Cheerful

  We stayed at Karana Palms for 3 nights. We were warmly greeted by Roxanne the receptionist upon arrival and she was extremely friendly whenever we saw her throughout our stay. The rooms are a little dated but you get what you pay for, we just wanted somewhere reasonably priced to sleep as we were going to be out and about most of the time. We stayed in apartment 317 and it was clean and tidy. It is only a 5 minute walk over the bridge to the centre of Surfers. Although unheated the pool was warm enough for a couple of afternoon swims and well appointed with bbq facilities and tables, chairs and loungers. Another reviewer commented on the water pressure in the shower, we found this in most places we have stayed, even with our friends, I think it has something to do with water conservation in Queensland. The place could do with a spruce up but cheap as chips so you can spend more shopping !! Roxanne is an asset to the complex with her friendly manner.
