  Expensive, cramped and unclean

  My wife and I booked in to Windmill cottage No 4 on 22March19. We were disappointed to find it so unclean.On arrival we found: Dust and fluff on the floors and crumbs in the corners - the vacuuming if any, was not good The wine glasses were all smeary, not washed by the looks, and one was cracked nearly all the way through The food tongs and sharp knife had food and grease still stuck to them (see photo) The front of the oven and splash back were smeary and dotted with grease The extractor filters had grease in them to the point that it may fall into your cooking if heated There were signs of black mould in the shower base The bathroom extractor fan, mounted on the wall, right in front of your face, was filthy - coked with fluff. We left phone messages and email with our concerns - we received no replies. Two friends also joined at a cost of $20 each plus a $6 linen fee (???), bringing the total for all 4 of us to $166. For a cramped little cottage, not much bigger than a caravan, in such a grubby state, our money could have been MUCH better spent.

  Great accommadation in the heart of town

  We recently visited Kapunda and stayed in the 2 bedroom cabin , we loved it ,it was equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay , it had a great tourist kitchen area and a pretty lake nearby set in beautiful grounds , it was close to everything nearby , staff were very friendly and helpful , I would definitely stay here again , very reasonably priced and clean .

  2 nights power and water $60

  A favourite. Stayed 2 nights. Very central for Barossa and Clare. Quick drive to Adelaide. Good big sites. Entertaining magpies (crooks). Nice walks around the area. Low profile in terms of rules, very relaxed. No need. Camp kitchen lacks only a hot plate as there is otherwise only one BBQ for cooking (yes there is also a microwave and TV). Laundry 1 washer 1 drier. Lots of clothes lines

  Bush Cabin Small No 12

  Stayed Wednesday 11th March for one night in bush cabin small no 12. It wasn't small, had everything we needed, very clean, pity you had to pay more for linen in 2nd bedroom. Down side was no grass at all, all gravel and dirt even around carvan sites. Also the staff member who checked us in was more interested in what they were doing before we came into the office than making sure we had a good stay.

  Great getaway location

  I've visited several times during the quiet off peak periods and found the hosts to be very friendly and helpful. It's a well maintained and peaceful location, with the usual camping and cabin options. I've stayed in the bush cabins and the quaint windmill villa and found them to be very comfortable. Kapunda is a typical quiet, friendly country town and a perfect getaway for people who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and just chill out and relax for a few days.
