    Cutest little hotel ever!

We stayed at this hotel as it is close to the Snow Monkey Park. We were all pleasantly surprised with ever part of it. An authentic cultural experience. The private Onsen was a plus. The service was excellent, location wonderful, and great food. Highly recommended.

    Amazing experience

Stayed here for a night to experience the onsen, and to visit the monkey park. The hotel has a free shuttle van. Breakfast and dinner is part of our package. It is a nice break away from the hustle and bustle of city life. They offer public and private onsen.

Beautiful property near the Snow Monkey park

Stayed for one night to visit the Snow Monkeys and Obuse. Every area of the hotel is meticulously maintained with exceptional attention to detail. The private onsen was beautiful and being able to be outdoors with snow on the ground was a special experience. Breakfast was served with great courtesy and brief introductions to the items served which enhanced the experience. The lounge, with self service coffee and tea station, as well as the selection of books (mostly in Japanese) and western classical music CDs was like a throw back to a more elegant and relaxed era.

Go Here When Going To Japan!

My partner and I stayed in Japan for 7 days and 6 days. We stayed in Tokyo, but went to the mountains to see the snow monkeys. We stay one night at Senjakaku. I wish we had spent every night there instead of Tokyo. This hotel is THE BEST hotel I have ever stayed at. The room was huge, with a living room, bedroom, balcony, and TWO bathrooms! The view was stunning. The futon that they lay out for you to sleep on was like sleeping on a cloud. The gift shop was adorable. Everything was so clean and well-maintained. The staff were amazing, so caring, kind and polite. The two gentleman who checked us in and showed us to our room were so lovely to us, even returning a forgotten item to me. The service was spectacular. Not only is this the most beautiful and relaxing place I have ever been, it was also an adventure! We wore traditional Japanese shoes, socks, and clothes provided by the hotel. We were given the option of a Japanese or a Western breakfast, provided by the hotel. We were given tea, hot towels, and mochi. Everything was done for us and we were able to reserve a private hot spring for an hour at a VERY reasonable price (under $20). A PRIVATE HOT SPRING! The restaurants on the property that were recommended by the hotel were phenomenal! Good prices and even better taste!!! We had tapas, mulled wine, and desert. The SNOW MONKEY park was only a 30 minute walk and SOOO worth it! Everyone I know is jealous of our experience! If you EVER get the chance to go to Japan, you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO STAY at SENJUKAKU!

Go when you visit the Snow Monkey Park

This hotel is ideal when you visit the Snow Monkey Park, located a few minute walk to the entrance to the trail that leads to the Snow Monkey Park. The hotel looks western (and its name is "hotel"), but it is actually a Japanese style "ryokan" inside. You can enjoy spacious tatami room with futon. Staff were very caring and polite. Facilities including guest rooms, dining rooms, ONSEN, lounge, and pool are meticulously cleaned. They offer Yukata (Japanese bathrobe twice in a day, one for evening and another for morning). There is a public bus service from a nearby-museum (6-7 minutes walk from the hotel) to Yudanake if you would like to dine outside Kanbayashi.
