  Si no queda más remedio...

  Reservé una noche en este hotel a través de Impex Maldives porque llegamos sobre las 18:00 y ya no hacían viajes a nuestro resort. En primer lugar, decir que el trato de Impex fue excelente. En cuanto a este hotel...es básico tirando a muy cutre. El precio creo recordar que rondaba los 80$, barato por ser maldivas, carísimo por lo que ofrece el hotel. Salimos a pasear por Male y no lo recomiendo. Es una ciudad islamista integrista. Para cenar, después de recorrer la isla (la calle principal no pasa más de 1 km.) encontramos un único sitio para occidantales que permitieran la entrada a mujeres. En los comercios son bastante amables, pero a pesar del lujo de los resorts, sólo encuentras objetos/ropa que parecen sacados del Cuéntame. Por tanto, sólo recomendaría este hotel si no quedase más remedio que pasar la noche en Male. Y básicamente para dormir (mal) y madrugar lo más temprano posible rumbo al paraiso!

  We had to find a hotel to stay over for 2 nights in Male, in the Maldives

  Well I was advised by a friend that there was small but adequate hotel known as Kam Hotel with available rooms and we should try this hotel out. My son had his college holidays and I decided to travel with him too. I was then GM of a large pharmaceutical marketing company in Sri Lanka and was also a regional director for Sri Lanka and Maldive Islands for a world famous brand of pharmaceutical product being international acclaimed and used in cardiovascular irregularities, produced by a Japanese Pharma Multinational, based in Osaka, which I was introducing to the senior cardiologist in Male. Hence my visit to Male, hence (again:)the quaintly named and spelt Kam Hotel, and the unbelievably memorable visit to the beautiful Maldive Islands. The tiny island of Male was unbelievable, I believe the main street from end to end is a couple of kilometres long packed with small roads roads crowded by people on bikes overtaking cars. We even attended a crowded football stadium packed with screaming encouragement to their respective teams.Well in short don't miss a visit to Male and Kam Hotel quite near the jetty from which the ferry to the airport leaves too. The tiny Italian named restaurants serve delicious food too. Was the water in the shower and wash basin salty :-(

  1970s Hotel

  This hotel needs some serious TLC. I dont know where to begin! The shower was brown (the plastic changes colour over a long period of time), the hair dryer was unbelievable - it was actually laughable, the kettle had no socket in sight, the bed was very uncomfortable and had what only can be described as a bit of carpet as a duvet. The reception area is actually decent but the rooms let this place down massively. Good location as right by the ferry/jetty. Staff werent very accommodating after a mix up with the hotels! Better hotels available for this price!!

  Sweet and cosy but needs attention

  Well i wouldn't complain much since it is a budget hotel in Male. Close to the airport jetty and also around many good restaurant outlets, KAM hotel is located just right. Stayed there for 3 nights, room was cosy enough but some areas need attention. Positives: Location of the hotel, the food was good, the staff is kind and helpful Negatives: Need to give attention to the bath areas desperately, the plug in points are difficult to get to, they have limited iron and iron boards hence have to wait for your turn to come, no dental kit ( for tourists or travellers please note ), wifi is very weak and kept going off With the competition around the hotel needs to uplift its facilities and service.
