  De paso por Seul

  No llega ni al concepto de pensión en España. Las fotos no demuestran la realidad del lugar. No está limpio , las sábanas arrugadas , las habitaciones huelen a bolas de alcanfor. Las habitaciones que dan a la zona de la estación a pesar de tener doble ventana se escuchan de noche los trenes. Y de la entrada mejor ni hablar . Indigentes fumando y orinando en el portal. Un auténtico antro.

  Horrible

  First things off, the neighborhood of this hotel seems taken from a zombie B-movie (with an army of homeless milling around) and the dilapidated interior of the building will not shave off that cutthroat feeling you've been having in the back of your mind when arriving. But the score of two is not because the appearance of the place (the interior of the hotel is modern and acceptable). First, there is no elevator, so if you're carrying much luggage be prepared. Second, the linen was DIRTY. With all capitals.

  OK for an overnight

  Debated two or three circles... location cannot be beat if you need access to Seoul Station. Less than 5 minutes from the KTX (exit 1 or 2) and probably 2 from metro exits 13 or 14. Outside was not impressive however, no homeless loitering outside when I arrived around 2100. Up three flights of dingy stairs to a welcoming reception. The staff on was really nice and spoke English well. Check-in 1500-2300, breakfast 0800-1000 (no review as my train left too early to partake). My room was on the 4th floor, small but adequate- simple with the basics- slippers, towels, shampoo and conditioner, hairdryer, and a couple bottles of drinking water in the small fridge. Room was a little worn and bathroom a bit moldy in the corners. Absolutely no soundproofing between the rooms, thankfully while I could hear everything from next door, the neighbors were not too loud. This could be an issue for light sleepers on busier nights. The hotel is fine for just sleeping, would plan to spend most time exploring the city anyway. Exceptional location for access to Seoul station... just a little icky feeling until you are in the hotel/in your room.

  Stairs stairs stairs ......

  The hostel (hotel should be dropped from the name) has a great location but if you come with heavy luggage, it is a pain to climb up 3 flights of stairs to get there. Rooms are super tiny, much of the amenities are dated. Blinds are translucent so cannot black out the bright lights from the Seoul train station if you happened to get the room just facing it. A bit noisy too on that side of the hostel. Bedsheet has stains. Dining area is cramped. I think this place needs a renovation. If you are a solo traveller with light luggage, it is an economical and convenient choice.

  Superb location

  The K Grand is near Seoul main station.You reach it by stairs from the street.The reception staff speak good English and are helpful.The rooms are comfortable with good aircon. You can eat your own food and drink in the common area kitchen.Beakfasts are provided-cereals and toast with coffee.The K Grand is fantastic value.As a visitor its location is superb.There are homeless workers asleep on the pavements nearby but these are harmless and nonthreatening.
