  Nice and Relaxing

  Had a lovely stay here. We stayed in Gibbon bedroom and the bathroom was amazing. After spending so much time traveling was great to have such a big bath to relax in. The bed was so comfortable that one day we just laid in, had a nice leisurely breakfast and chilled here all day. Staff and owner were also lovely and kind. They collected us from the airport and arranged our taxi's. Nice to spend some time away from the smog of Chaing Mai center.

  Pair of Dice

  This place is not a gamble. I stay here a few times and its always amazing. If I could I would move here. #1 Building design - totally unique and special #2 Staff - Friendly and generous #3 Location - perfect for quiet and privacy but can also get to city in 25 minutes. other attractions much closer #4 FOOD - they grow their own vegetables at their Organic farm. Super fresh and tasty! #5 Facilities - Bathrooms are super cool, beds are amazing! real good beds and very soft sheets and blankets - better than at my house

  Totally regret coming to this BnB!

  We totally regretted leaving a perfectly good hotel just to try this Bed and Breakfast out in the suburbs. Our mistake!!! Maybe they can get away without supplying all that a guest normally requires in a stay because this is not a hotel or a resort - it's a BnB! The location is quite far from the center of CM so taxis added an extra 200 baht (total of 400 baht) for a trip. It's located in a small residence area which is very calm and quiet. There is no on-site restaurant and no restaurants within 2 to 3km, so a personal means of transport is required to stay here. The rooms are nice with a modern design but that is where the positives stopped for us. We booked 2 nights there. During our stay we never had any maid service, no cleaning, no renewal of towels or water, etc. during our stay. We ended up buying our own water outside, but we weren't willing to do the same for the towels. We were shown 2 rooms to choose from and that's where the interaction from the "receptionist" stopped. This is a large house that is shared by the owner. We never told which part of the house was available to us and which was not. There's a swimming pool and probably a fitness room (I seen a running machine through a door) but didn't know if we could use these. We had the feeling we were not welcome there and felt really uncomfortable so we just used our room and the terrace. Although the receptionist was not nasty, she does not know how to deal with holidaying guests and ensured that we weren't comfortable. Even on check out not a single question from her about our stay. My wife was waiting for this to explain our thoughts, but as she didn't seem bothered it would only have been a waste of my wife's energy so she bit the bullet and simply left. There was also a poor breakfast provided. After our stay we would not recommend this accommodation.

  Wonderful place and rally nice people

  1. Top marks for cleanliness and comfort. 2. Beautiful rooms with superb facilities 3. Friendly but not intrusive people. We were a group of 5 staying for a Chiang Mai wedding. Although the people who run Monkey Lodge live on the premises, we were given the run of the place as if it were our own luxury home. Transport was easy as they have a collaboration with a driver who runs a mini bus, which was ideal for our big group. and at our request they ran barbeques on two evenings when other members of the bridal family were able to join us in a very happy party. On the wedding day, I as even given some help with putting up my hair. Nothing was too much trouble for this friendly family and we were really sorry to leave at the end of our stay. Thoroughly recommended whether you are a big group as we were, or a couple - even a single person on their own will enjoy the peaceful location, the spacious, well equipped and spotless rooms and the supreme comfort.

  Monkey house has changed its name to Yixi July Garden

  This resort has recently changed its name and ownership and everything change. We visited this place several times in the past two years and were impressed how impeccable this place was. Now this property has shown signs of deteriorating, unattended garden, poor maintenance of property especially the bath-room area. Fixtures and fittings that are broken were not replaced. Before, the previous owner Tor and Property Manager Min (both speak English) were always on location to accommodate and answer questions, now most of the staffs either do not speak any English or speak very limited English make communication a little difficult. Due to new ownership and inexperienced manager and lack of man power, service was horrible. I would not recommend this place to my friends or family. I am too generous to give this place 3 stars. We definitely will not go back there.
