  Wonderful place

  Das Johannesbad is the one of a few places that I did not want to leave: pleasant, cozy and clean rooms, wonderful inner garden and swimming pool, but all above are the incredibly helpful staff that makes it such a good place to stay. When we originally plan our visit, we looked around for restaurant to go out. Big mistake. The hotel chef is incredible and thanks to him their restaurant is on famous Michelin list. On a breakfast they served delicious pastries, cheese from Ethal Monastery, sausages, pretzels and lots of other local products. Gabriele, Stephan and Frank, thank you very much.

  Nice Stay

  The staff at this hotel are very helpful and kind. I liked how the breakfast server and receptionist wore traditional dresses. It added a special touch to our quick stay in Germany. Our room was very clean. The bed was a little hard, but I still slept well. We had a beautiful view from our room. Our "double bed" was actually two small twins put together, each with its own single-sized blanket. The breakfast was good. They offered cheeses, breads, honeycomb (very fun to see and eat!), scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals, fruit and pastries (and more). We ate the restaurant for dinner and had a nice dinner. We later found out that the city is sort of a wellness place, where many Germans go for healing. That explained why there were many elderly people there :) All were very kind though. It was about 35 minutes from Neuschwanstein Castle and was a good place to stop after seeing the castle from our drive to Zurich to Prague.

  Absolutely perfect!

  We can't imagine more meticulous attention to detail than in this family-run hotel. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. They let us into our room at 11 AM, when we arrived, and the room was just lovely. They were attentive and extremely helpful without being intrusive; incredible front desk people. The food was delicious at breakfast, and the dinner was wonderful, too, in their cozy and comfortable dining room, with starched linens. The highlight was the wellness area, with a sauna, steam room, tepidarium (our favorite: a round room with a tiled, heated bench), a heated indoor swimming pool, and various other spotless, lovely amenities. An especially nice benefit is that one can use the wellness area all day after checkout--which we did, after we walked in nearby snowy paths. We think this hotel is magnificent, and we have already booked another weekend there, this time with a mudbath in Bad Kohlgrub's healthy, well, yes, mud. What better way to start our next visit to this splendid hotel?

  It's like coming home

  We have been staying at The Johannes Bad for many years and it always feels as you would come home. Gabi and Stephan Schober and his team are fabulous hosts and run this beautiful gem of a hotel and spa like a five star property. Rooms and Suites are designed in a very warm and local feel and the food is to die for. We can't wait to return to our home in Bad Kohlgrub.

  Wonderful typical place with competitive prices

  Typical decoration and structure with many dedicated areas : pool, spas, baths, TV, bar, breakfast, food, relax Confortable Bedrooms, very quite and peaceful Large offer for food with typical land offer : fish, meat, or...honey direct from hive !? Very good services and fair people At last, evreything push you to stay and/or come back with more time including the bill as really not expensive if we consider the global offer. THANKS
