Gorgeous and peacefulExcelent staff. Very welcoming atmosphere. Clean place. Nice comfy beds. We stayed in the huts and the mountain villa. Both great experiences. But we loved the mountain villa. Is like staying in a jungle. This place was the best in chiangmai We will go back

Healthy only in name1. The name is deceptive. There is no health food on site and this is not a health resort in any way that I could see. The restaurant food is actually downright unhealthy (deep-fried omelette anyone?) 2. There are numerous stagnant bodies of water on-site and the rooms themselves are poorly designed. We opted for the more expensive Mountain Villa but even so there were gaps around the windows and a big gap above the terrace door. This all meant that mosquitoes were rife in the room and onsite. 3. The rooms have changed since they were photographed. You no longer get decent mosquito nets. We got bitten in the night and as a result slept badly. 4. None of the staff, with the exception of the manager, speak even passable English. 5. The food in the on-site restaurant is expensive and unpleasant. Luckily we discovered an excellent restaurant within walking distance called N Three, where the food was much cheaper and better and the staff all spoke good English. You can also cycle here with the free bikes Jirung provides. 6. The resort is remote and the free shuttle into town has been cancelled by hotel management. We asked to be picked up from old town and were told it would cost 800TBH. We booked our own transportation instead for 360TBH. Overall would not recommend this at all. The amenities are not up to a good enough standard to enable you to stay on-site the whole time and counter its remote location.

Far from what the name suggests...The Jirung Health village couldn't be further from it's title than the name suggests, we fortunately only booked to stay for 2 nights and a half day was more than enough. Whilst the 'resort' is situated in a quiet and natural environment, it also has 3 large bodies of standing water which means that there are countless numbers of mosquitoes. The fittings in the rooms do not help the situation, where the windows and doors have large gaps, so even when you are able to empty your room of mosquitoes, more and more will enter through these inlets. This is clearly an ongoing issue for other guests too considering that upon arrival the mosquito net, curtains, windows and mirror were all smeared with previous mosquito kills. We booked the Mountain Villa on the basis that other reviews had recommended it, the room has AC, but was not clean upon arrival and we spent the first hour of our stay cleaning and massacring mosquitoes. We realised when locking up that this was fruitless because neither the window adjacent to the door, nor terrace, would lock and so the room is not secure. It is worth noting whilst there is internet here, it is very slow and the connection is extremely poor. DO NOT EAT HERE! The food is awful and left me unwell, none of it is healthy - as the name might suggest and the staff and kitchen are incredibly slow, we waited for an hour only to be told our order was unavailable, this happened twice! Fool me once... If you are going to stay here, there is a small cafe/restaurant 20mins walk away called N THREE it is far better and far cheaper! We complained to management and they admitted that they knew the restaurant was poor and offered to drive us to a nearby restaurant for dinner, however, this took a long time as the staff here are not English speaking. There is no desire for management to fix any of the issues described in previous reviews, this is apparent by their lack of response and by the fact that the feedback is being ignored. There is no shuttle service here, as such you are very isolated and have to put up with slow service and poor food. Save your time and money, look elsewhere.

Just an ordinary resortVery helpful and friendly staff. Quick to respond to special request. Stayed in a mountain suite villa. A lot of trees. In a middle of the jungle. There were not a lot of guests during the rainy (low) season. Good room set up but everything was aged and not well-maintained. Signs of termite issues all over the villa. The filters of the air conditioners were very dusty. Hot water was very hot. Loud noise from an animal on the first night. Changed to another villa on 2nd and 3rd night without any noise problem. The special activities shown in the ads were available by request. Good quality bed and pillows. The restaurant was very good. A little pricey but delicious. Found 7 cats around the resort. The facilities for meditation were well-maintained and not busy at all.

Non existent service, WAY overpriced, a sad letdown...I was especially excited about staying at Jirung for a recent workshop I was participating in. The initial correspondences were very helpful and the staff seemed very capable of accommodating everything the group needed, including accomodations, dietary restrictions, and some of the delicate components of hosting a large group. While my room was actually very comfortable and a pleasure to stay in, the astronomical cost of the room per night was a huge turnoff, (more than all the 5 star hotels in Chiang Mai for the dates of my stay.) Chiang Mai is so affordable, and paying almost $120 per night at a "discounted group rate" is just offensive for me given the complete non-existence of any form of concierge or star quality to the hospitality. I stayed in similar accomodations in Chiang mai for around 1/12th of the cost, don't get scammed by these prices. The restaurant on the property is a joke, absolutely ridiculous, as if all the employees were pulled off of the street and asked to work in an industry they don't understand and are downright terrible at, I have never experienced such disrepair in management and capacity from a restaurant before. They would consistently take 5 trips to bring the right bill with the right balances, constantly added things to the bill that weren't ordered, would include meat in vegetarian items, and when we pointed out that some individuals couldn't eat meat they would remove the chunks of meat from the dish and just bring it right back, pricing was different then what was listed on the menu and then they would refuse to honor the listed prices because these were "old menus", no concern for the health and wellness of their clients at a wellness center, absolutely laughable service, aweful awful awful! We stopped eating here after a few nights and elected to go to the 4 seasons next door to actually receive a meal from people who know what they are doing, and the pricing for the restaurant was higher than the #1 ranked restaurant on TripAdvisor, yet the only bad meals I had in thailand were while staying at Jirung. Numerous people, myself included, had numerous ant infestations in the "villas", and the workshop space smelled like cat urine because they have numerous cats on the grounds that wander freely. Supposedly the space was cleaned each day however a deep clean would be helpful to avoid the pungent aroma of cat urine, and this was workshop space on the first floor of the Thippamon Ashram, it just felt like the people working here had no respect for the customers or the job they were doing, and certainly weren't using the money we were spending to honor the space and care for the temple space. I would not recommend staying here, Everywhere else I have stayed in thailand was a better experience!
