Like your home away from home.....

I've stayed her twice. The first time in 2008 when they were only open for 1yr and then again last month. Things have changed in 6yrs. Each room has its own bathroom which is really nice. We were in NY from 8am-8pm everyday and were so tired by the time we got back, that we basically just went to sleep. The room was clean, although it was a warm October so it was a touch stuffy in the room. They definitely need some stand up fans in the rooms. Don't expect a fancy breakfast like you'd get at one of those B&B's that publish their own cookbooks. This is home cooking, pure and simple. Scrambled eggs, microwaved bacon and whole grain toast with margarine. Or, you can have pancakes made from a mix. It was fine for us because we were off to NYC and didn't need a huge breakfast. The first time I stayed, the breakfast was fancier, Nutella, cheeses, breads, etc. There is a water dispenser in your room and a mini fridge with sodas. I rarely saw the owner on this trip and we didn't get any rides to the PATH station. We took Uber( Don't call a taxi, total rip-off) or Lyft. So, bottom line, it was inexpensive and convenient and clean. That was good enough for us. If you stay here, fly into Newark, its much easier to get from Newark airport to this B&B.

    Easy walk to Broadway

Located extremely close to LP Field stadium. We easily walked to the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge to Broadway. The rooms were clean, a little dated, but comfortable. The guitar shaped pool was impressive & would be fun in warmer weather. A lot cheaper than hotels on the other side of the river.

    Marvallous

Stayed for 15 days there in 2009. The best place where to stay. Lovely people and a great sense of hospitality. Breakfast was amazing and they were very careful to our taste providing us with Nutella as well. Lovely experience

Great service, great price, good accomodations, but questionable neighbourhood.

Stayed there a few years ago. The owner Lonnie (as well as the rest of the staff) was extremely nice. We asked for a few things to be done, ie. have the air filters changed, and he took care of them immediately. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable, but it was tolerable. The rates, when compared with hotels in Manhattan, were extremely affordable. My only real criticism was the surrounding neighbourhood. I did not feel comfortable walking around at night. You pretty much want to take a cab to and from the subway station, which fortunately is close by, especially at night time.
