  El paraíso en Sri Lanka!!

  Elegimos este hotel por su concepto y cercanía a la playa de Hirikitiya... y no pudimos elegir mejor! El concepto de las habitaciones es muy singular: ventanal sin cristal en la habitación (aunque se puede cerrar con una persiana) y baño abierto. Es un lujo ducharte viendo las estrellas o despertarte viendo palmeras y escuchando el sonido del mar. Limpieza excelente. El hotel cuenta con alquiler de tablas de surf (y clases), clases de yoga, etc... La piscina exterior dispone de tumbonas y sombrillas donde pasar un rato agradable. El desayuno no es muy variado pero los productos ofrecidos son de calidad y cocinados correctamente. Cenamos siempre en el hotel por comodidad y no nos defraudó. La carta no es muy extensa pero los platos están bastante buenos y las cantidades son grandes. Para comer nos íbamos a alguno de los chiringuitos de la playa pero se puede comer sin problemas en el hotel. Por último destacar la gran labor que está haciendo su dueña con la playa: limpia la misma semanalmente con todos los empleados del hotel y conciencia a los lugareños con la necesidad de mantenerla limpia. Lo consigue, es la playa más limpia en la que estuvimos.

  Perfect place in Hiriketiya

  Jasper House is a very nice Hotel with friendly and helpfull staf. After a day at the beach its perfect to relax by the pool listning to all the sounds from the djungle. The Yoga classes where a great start of the day. We would love to come back!

  Does not live up to expectations

  We stayed at Jasper House over the December holidays, and booked 2 rooms. The position of the establishment is fantastic, really close to the beach. Staff were pleasant and friendly on check in. We were given a cold juice, and taken to our rooms. And that was the end of any sort of interaction. We were not show around, told about meal times, or where the restaurant, pool or yoga facilities were. We never met the manager once during our 7 day stay, not even sure there was one. The hotel (loathe to use that word as it is nothing like a hotel) has absolutely no atmosphere or life. It feels old and run down. The furniture is dark, the lights are constantly on everywhere even in the middle of the day, as it's just so dark in the passages and the restaurant. It's untidy with mops and brooms stashed in passageways. Glasses were left a the pool. The water dispenser upstairs leaks, so an ugly old towel is rolled up in front of it to soak up the water. There are carpets on the stairs and in the passageways, which makes no sense at all in a beach hotel where sand is walked in constantly. On the day we arrived there was a white board displaying the restaurant special of the day, And that same special remained on special until we left 7 days later. That alone made me very nervous to even try the food. Breakfast was extremely poor with the exact same food on offer every single day for a week. No variation at all. The tables are sticky and it just feels like there is no care or pride. Water leaks in through the roof in the restaurant when it rains and everything gets wet. And the same in the open bathrooms. Nothing like a wet toilet seat in middle of the night. We never saw anyone eat at the restaurant ever. It was like a ghost town up there whenever we went to fill up water bottles. Staff sit around and wait. Soul destroying really, as the establishment is in a prime location and could be amazing if revamped and given some much needed attention. Your social media team needs to be commended, as only on looking back at the photos once we had stayed, do you realise that images are very one dimensional with many aerial shots or up close images of food for example. You never get to actually see what the space looks like. Those images are so styled, very clever, and also nowhere close to reality.

  Great nature stay in Hiriketiya

  We had a lovely time in hiriketiya, Jasper house! The hotel is lovely and the staff is super friendly. We stayed for two nights. We were located on the ground floor, nearby the pool. It has really something extra relaxing to sleep with no windows, there are some shutters but no glass. You can hear the birds and the trees. But its not super quiet if youre a light sleeper. We had no problem with this, but might be good to know. There is no fridge in the room but upstairs where the lovely breakfast is served, you can get cold water. Overall a lovely stay!

  Relaxing but we didnt have AC

  The place was fine for what we needed, close to the beach where all the bars are. the people that worked there seemed nice and helpful. The only issue was that we had no Air conditioning and I did notice the next door room had this. There seemed to be yoga classes available, surf board rental too.
