Surpassed all expectationsI dont know where to start. The location and public areas and rooms are gorgeous. The food was spectacular. The service unparalleled. Then there are the twice a day game drives. We saw everything: lions, leopards, elephants, giraffe, zebra, rhinos, hippos. The animals were so close I couldnt believe it. Our game guide and tracker were unbelievable. They found everything for us. A once in a lifetime experience.

Excellent!A Jackalberry shuttle met us at the airport in Hoedspruit for transfer to their lodge. Upon arriving, we were met by very friendly staff who had towelettes for our use. This welcome was a precursor to our entire stay. The staff was very friendly and treated us like royalty. The meals were wonderful. The drinks were wonderful. The accommodations were wonderful. Our tracker and guide had a great knowledge base about the area and the animals. Every excursion into the bush we were treated with excellent views of the animals, refreshments, and excellent information. If you go, Godfreys hot chocolate is the best ever. I would definitely recommend this place, which abuts to the Kruger National Park. We saw all of the big five every time we went out. Totally a trip of a lifetime!

Amazing Safari Lodge!Theres not much more I can say that hasnt already been written. We stayed at Jackalberry Lodge the first week of March for three nights. I was a little worried that we were going during the rainy season and wouldnt see animals but from the minute we stepped inside, we were in awe! There were kudu antelope hanging out at the entrance along with the innkeepers to greet us. Gerhard and John, our ranger and tracker, took us out an hour after we arrived and made sure we saw as many animals as possible. Giraffes, elephants and zebras, oh my!! Not only did they find the animals but had so much to teach us about the animals. In the three days we were there we saw elephants, lions, hippos, rhinos, zebra, hyenas, and the elusive leopard. We were really only there to see animals but were so pleasantly surprised to find that the accommodations and food were spectacular! Dumi, our butler, took care of our every whim. Natasha, the innkeeper, was gracious and made sure we were happy. We would sit by the pool and see elephants, giraffes and zebra come up to the gate surrounding the property. It was like being on the set of Lion King! I couldnt ask for a better place to be. We were so happy that our travel guide, Felleng Tours, booked us at Jackalberry. Highly recommend!!

WOW!!!!!We stayed Feb.20-24, 2020. We traveled with another couple and stayed in separate huts near the main lodge. Each day we went out at 5:30 in the morning for 3 hours and again in the evening at 4:30 for another 3 hours to see the animals. We saw the big 5 ( rhinos, elephants, water buffalo, lions, and leopards). This whole experience was beyond anything we could imagine!! A trip of a lifetime. The service and the food was extraordinary. The guide and tracker were exceptionally knowledgeable. Would highly recommend.

Bush paradise - self-cateringDuring Covid 19 SA lodges are offering SA residents really attractive offers. We were a party of 11 and were able to self-cater which made it very affordable. The lodge is awesome, with spectacular rooms and lovely living areas, ideal for a family get-together or workshop. The lodge provides fantastic and superb chefs in Maria and Phumzele which allows you to go on game drives and come back to brunch and dinner. Gerhard and John the game rangers are incredibly knowledgeable on the bush and animals, and know their birds really well which enhanced our experience. This is an absolute gem and should be 100% booked throughout the year. They also offer a fully catered option as well.
