  Not sure about this lodge

  This lodge its a bit confusing to review because its not an awful lodge. The staff are 5/5 fantastic, however the food was middle of the road bland and uninteresting. The rooms are tiny and share a wall with the next room so we could clearly hear our neighbours which was not nice. However as tiny as they are the are clean. Another disappointment was that game drives drinks are not included as part of the game drive package. I have never been to a lodge where we paid for game drives drinks separately especially for the prices we pay. Similar lodges around that area dont charge for game drives drinks. Another thing game drives at Itaga are only 2 hours instead of the normal 3 hours like similar lodge.

  The Lodge, location, service is very good in my opinion pricing is high for what you get. We had Ellies visiting on our third night at the lodge. All the staff was very friendly and helpful during our four night stay. As stated in my opinion just over priced.

  Amazing stay

  A really good surprise on the way between Joburg and Limpopo area. Managers are on top of kindness. Nice lodge in an interesting park. it's an heaven with only few chalets very well keep. I feel good as soon as our arrival.

  Most relaxing getaway

  We spent 3 nights at Itaga lodge. It is a very private place with only 8 chalets and no small kids. Superior rooms are very comfortable and outside showers adds to bush feeling, great to use in summer heat. We enjoyed pool area and used spa for massages, highly recommended. Afternoon game drives were very informative with abundance of game to see in close distance. For two days some animals jumped perimeter fence and walked around the lodge to our entertainment. Dinners were very tasty but unfortunately had to be rushed due to COVID regulations. Breakfast a bit boring and lacked pastries. Lunch menu is small but tasty. Overall we had very relaxing time, good place to get away from COVID.

  disappointed

  We booked a 2 night stay at Itaga for our honeymoon, for starters the accomodation and bathroom were in my opinion not of a 'superior' category, we paid over R8000 in total and expected alot more !! , no special effort was made to make our honeymoon special. secondly the game drive was a nightmare - the driver went through a puddle far too fast - i spent the rest of our stay in pain - cracked ribs and all.
