  Maravillosa sorpresa

  El hotel esta perfectamente situado cerca de la playa y del centro histórico.Todo nuevo superlimpio,con una decoración preciosa.Las habitaciones son amplísimas con zona de cocina y cuarto de baño estupendo.El personal superamable.Tiene una piscina muy coqueta en la azotea.El desayuno muy bueno.Magnifica relación calidad precio.Para mi de los mejores hoteles en la ciudad.

  Gran descubrimiento

  Hotel con estilo, habitaciones muy amplias, cama cómoda, desayuno exquisito (cada día ponían un par de cosas diferentes). Ubicación en zona tranquila pero a escasos minutos de la zona del paseo y centro histórico. Totalmente recomendable

  Beware!!

  My mother and I were so looking forward to staying at Ionia Suites as based on the photos and numerous past reviews it looked fantastic! Sadly our booking turned into a disaster. 1 week before we were due to stay at Ionia Suites they emailed me to tell me that our booking had been cancelled due to over booking despite the fact we had booked and paid in full months ago. When we arrived in Rethymnon - having had to find alternative accommodation at the last minute - we went in to Ionia Suites to enquire about our cancelled reservation. The man at reception couldn't give us an exact explanation but said it was most likely due to someone booking for 7 nights as opposed to our 3 so they decided to give them the room instead. He also said that this was quite common hotel practise. Based on this experience I would not recommend Ionia Suites to anyone!!!!

  Lovely hotel, good location

  We stayed for 5 nights during the last week in August. We really chose this hotel because of the location, both walking distance to the beach for the day, and to the Old Town for bars and restaurants for the evening. Also there is a pool which we did use most late afternoons. I must admit that when we 1st arrived from Chania we were a bit disappointed in the location, after being in a tiny pedestrianised walkway, the Ionia suites is on quite a busy cross roads. However it did meet our location criteria (above). We had a studio suite (room 308) on the top floor by the pool, which was huge; separate living area with kitchen, great shower, and 2 balconies - unfortunately the balconies overlook a busy road, so not very peaceful. The hotel is very well looked after, very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the ladies serving breakfast, which was decent too. They also provide towels for the beach. Rethymno is not as quaint or pretty as Chania, and I think the bars are a bit more touristic, but I think that overall the restaurants are better, and a little cheaper. There is also a nice beach only 10mins walk away, with plenty of places to hire beds and sun shades quite reasonably. The location, on the main road is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars

  Excellent Location!

  My friend and I really enjoyed our stay at the Ionia Suites Hotel. We were upgraded from a standard room to a one-bedroom suite, which was lovely. From the moment we arrived to when we left, the service was excellent. We particularly loved the location - close to the old town as well as close to the beaches. We did get lost a couple of times, but that only meant we discovered new places. The hotel was very clean. Our room was on the same level as the pool, which was small, but a lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine. The breakfast had a wide variety of choices with home made bread and jams - delicious. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel.
