    Good value family hotel

The aparthotel Rossella is situated in a fairly non descript area between the two modern resorts of Cala Millor and Sa Bona. Whilst ongoing building in the area is apparent there was no work being carried on in August and no building sites in the immediate area of the hotel. The hotel is directly opposite a protected nature reserve. The resorts on either side are between 5 - 10 minutes walk - there are plenty of shops and bars but are relatively quiet. If you want old style Majorca you'll have to travel further afield by bus (stops out side hotel) or car. Our room looked over the pool and consisted of a kitchen/lounge (with two bed settees), bathroom and separate twin bedroom. All very clean and spacious with plenty of storage. We arrived late evening around 11.30pm and were pleased to see that a cold meat and cheese platter had been left for us in the fridge. Food was of a very high quality - plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snacks around the pool in the morning and afternoon. All guests were on the all inclusive tarif which included all drinks from 10.00am to 12 midnight - just help yourself to Coke, Sprite, Beer, Wine, Spirits (local), Coffee, etc. Picnic lunches also available free of charge. Plenty of sun beds. Staff generally helpful. Evening entertainment was fairly 'naff' and really only suitable for under 5's but heck you can't have everything!

All inclusive at Aparthotel Rossella not what we expected!

Booked Aparthotel Rosella a few weeks before arriving through a travel agent. Led to believe, through lowcostbeds.com, that this was a 4 star hotel, however, not up to 4 star standard. The hotel is older than some other hotels in Cala Millor and this is apparent in areas. Apartments are spacious but quite basic, the bathroom definitely needed a refurbishment. The pool area is okay but also needs some attention to smarten it up a bit. The room was cleaned every other day and towels changed then as well, however, our bedding was only changed once during our 10 day stay! We did mention this to the Manager, who assured us he would change the bedding for us straight away, but it never happened. As there is no air conditioning in the rooms it made the beds very uncomfortable to sleep in at night. Our bedroom window opened up onto the 5th floor corridor and because of lack of air conditioning it was necessary to leave the window open at night, however, this also meant that we did not get much sleep at all the whole time we were there due to people coming and going throughout the night. On a plus side, the restaurant is spotless and the food of a high quality. Breakfast isn't up too much and if you prefer a full english breakfast you will be disappointed. However, lunch and dinner definitely made up for this. Drinks were self service from plastic cups, which we were quite surprised about, however, they did run out of vodka and this was not replaced for two nights. As it is self service there are hardly any staff to clear up. Unfortunately, we seemed to be sharing the facilities with a load of slobs; I'd like to think it wasn't English people leaving cups and litter everywhere but I'd probably be wrong. There is a policy at the hotel that towels cannot be left on sunbeds but every morning, no matter what time we awoke, towels were laid out on beds! If you want evening enterntainment, don't stay in the hotel as it is not up to much, unless you like Bingo. We went to Cala Millor with our two boys aged 10 and 7, and we still thoroghly enjoyed our holiday. The beaches at Cala Millor and Sa Coma are fantastic. We would go back to this area again but we would book one of the 4 star hipotels on the beachfront instead of the Aparthotel Rossella.

    Holiday from Hell

Well... Where do I start!! My husband and I were looking forward to our weeks break at the beginning of October. Arrived at the hotel only to be greeted by strange looks and an unwelcoming atmosphere. I thought that we must be in the wrong hotel but then soon realised it was because my husband and I are both afro-carribean. I felt sickened buy this behaviour and immediatly felt that I wanted to leave. We've been to other spanish islands before Majorca but have never experienced treatment like this before. Nethertheless, despite this we were determined to have a great time but failed - The rooms were very basic, bathroom wreaked of a horrible sewage smell, bed sheets were not changed once during our stay, the only UK TV channel they had was sport/news, all newspapers and mags were in spanish but you could buy the Sun for 2!!!! I refused to pay nearly £2 for a paper that only costs 30p! The food was disgusting and half the time you didn't even know what you were eating because the food was not properly labelled. Once I thought they were serving Scampi it turned out to be deep fried battered cauliflower!!! And as for the Entertainment...what entertainment??!!?? I'm afraid i'm going to have to stop here as it's too painful to describe the other events that took place during our stay. I would NEVER go back to this hotel.
