    Awful place, awful people

    I booked to stay here on 4 August last year with my wife. When I arrived at reception that evening, there were a few people sitting there who turned us away without an apology or a reason. They just said that they were closed. I was given a slip of paper to phone for a refund. I had just run a 42 mile ultramarathon and had to drive back to Edinburgh (which is unsafe after such a run) as there was nowhere else to stay in Fort William. Eight months and dozens of phone calls and emails later I have not received my refund and have now given up. The owners have avoided any responsibility and have dodged emails and phone calls and keep referring me on to other people. The worst part about the whole experience is that they have blatantly lied to me, by saying that they were open on 4 August and that a coach party was booked that day. There was no sign of any life at all in the hotel apart from a few people at reception. They refuse to believe me when I say that we were turned away. Looking at other trip advisor reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one who had this happen to me around this time, yet they continue to not believe me when I say that I was turned away. I don't normally get angry, but when you meet people that can be so deceitful and disrespecful it is hard not to. Avoid this place and the Portnosachan Hotel which they also run.

    Needs sorting out.

    As soon as we got in, half of the group were told they'd have hot water but no cold so no chance of a shower. The decorating looks like it's been done by a Community Payback Team. There's more paint on the floor than on the skirting boards. The bar was bottles only as the pumps weren't on. The bar was cash only which caused some people trouble. And a minor detail when trying to find the place, they've changed its name but didn't think to inform the group organiser so we had to do a couple of U turns. One lad dropped his bike during one of these manoeuvres. It's now called the Loch Linnie House. One lad asked for a cooked breakfast- no chance!

    Disgraceful accomodation

    Was told on arrival that there was no booking in my name or for another booking that my sister made. This story was changed by the manageress to the rooms were double booked and she was sorry. No, we could not get a refund when I asked. We were offered accommodation over an hours drive away which I said was unacceptable as I was due to climb Ben Nevis early in the morning. My family had come from Inverness also to take part in the climb and were camped in the site by the Ben. I had driven from London and had to buy sleeping bags and hire a sleeping pod for the night. I was eventually offered a room for the second night which I accepted. On entering the room we discovered that there was no working toilet, no bath plug, no cold water to make the bath bearable, the taps came off from the sink, bedside lights did not work, no bath mat and only one bath towel. I would never stay there again. This happened in June 2018 and the reason I did not complain on tripadvisor was because I was told the hotel was changing hand and didnt want the new owners to have a bad start. It now appears it hasnt changed hands as I found out at the Kent Garden show(from where I originally made the booking last year) The gentleman who was on the stand this year looked suspiciously like the man from previously but he said it wasnt him but he would look into the matter and get back to me either by text or phone. I gave him my contact details. A little later when my family and myself were having refreshments outside, he came over and said that the matter was being investigated. I feel let down again by this accommodation company as I have heard nothing since the 25th of May.

    Double booked and were refused a refund.

    Was booked in for three nights as I was doing a walk up Ben Nevis. Was told there was no record of us and when I showed my booking form to the manageress she refused to acknowledge it. Later she relented and said we could have the second night. The accommodation was substandard and not fit for purpose. No apology was offered. I refused to stay for the third night

    Absolutely Diabolical

    Booked 2 apartments for 4 of us. But due to Covid restrictions we had to cancel. We cancelled on 30/11/2020. I have made a few telephone calls and sent a few emails. (5 calls/ 3 emails) and still to date 19/12/2020 I have received no refund. Alls the hotel will tell me is the manager isnt available. Some one will call me back. Still waiting. DO NOT WASTE ANY OF YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL
