Great location on the river with great viewsLovely location and nice facilities. The balcony had terrific views up the river towards Brisbane. Rooms and bed very comfortable, I slept really well. Staff were fairly helpful and efficient and assisted with directions so I could find everything I needed. The only negative I would say is that the rooms seem a little dated but still very clean. Overall I would stay here again and I loved the location which enabled easy access to visit my mother at the Wesley Hospital.

Nice and QuietWe stayed at Inn on the Park for 2 weeks. The staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating to our every need. It has everything we needed. The pool and gym were quite small but suited the purpose. The location is a bit outside the central area, but in a student friendly area. There is a big shopping center around 10s walk from there.

What a great place to stay!It is a great place to stay. Great views. Big balconies. Close to public transport. Parking space available. Second time we have stayed there. Everything you need, including washing machine and dryer. All necessary cooking requirements. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. Large living area. Dining room table. Front desk very helpful. Have no complaints at all.

Better Options ElsewhereLOCATION Although it's across the road from a park and the river, in reality I.O.T.P is in a rather desolate location overlooking busy Coronation Drive, with not much in the near vicinity, apart from the Regatta Hotel, the First Choice liquor store and the Regatta ferry terminal. A bit further away, about 15 minutes walk, is the handy Toowong Village shopping centre, but the walk there is not a pleasant one. There are numerous roads to cross. The pavements are narrow and dangerous for pedestrians because theres always the danger of being mown down by a speeding cyclist or the newest menace, the motorised scooter. You also need to be extremely cautious when walking to the ferry terminal which requires you to cross over a cycle path. Being small, not always completely visible, and sometimes moving at great speed, these cycles can be a real hazard if youre not alert. APARTMENT Our apartment, 609, had most of the things that we needed, including a fully equipped kitchen, a laundry, a dining table and chairs, a TV with Foxtel, a linen cupboard, a bedroom cupboard, two bedside tables and a large balcony with a comfy outdoor setting. Best thing about it was that it got the morning sun, which kept the whole place pleasantly warm, even during those chilly winter days and nights. Due to the trees in the park, our so-called river view didnt really give us much of a river view at all, but still it was pleasant sitting on the sunny balcony. Being just above Coronation Drive made it a tad noisy from the traffic, but the sleeping area is behind the lounge-room, and can be closed off with a heavy wooden sliding door which meant it was quieter than the rest of the apartment. But, on the whole, the road noise didnt bother us much, although it could clearly be more of a problem on lower floors. The internet was free and it worked well throughout our nine day stay, providing a fast and reliable service. The air con/heating unit was extremely effective in heating the whole place quickly, and keeping it warm. Most of the major appliances seemed newish, i.e. the fridge, washer, dryer and microwave, There were plenty of power points, although many in inconvenient places. The worst thing about the apartment though was the bathroom. It was virtually inside the bedroom and thus offered very little privacy. Luckily, it did at least have a solid wooden door (no lock though) because without that, if it had, say, been a sliding or glass door that would have been a disaster. To compound the problem, the bathroom had no windows and only a tiny air vent above the shower. Bizarrely, there was a second door to the bathroom, opening up to the little laundry, which itself has a door to the passageway, so if both doors were open they would bang into each other. Apart from the lack of privacy in the bathroom, the apartment also had several other flaws: - There were no drawers in the bedside tables - Ugly spaghetti wires behind the TV - No decent shelves in the bedroom cupboard, meaning that we had to use the linen cupboard to store our clothes - Hardly any hangars were provided: we had to go out and buy our own - The bed was awful. It was as soft as butter, and had probably never been replaced. Every morning I woke with a sore back. I complained to the manager who replaced it, but the replacement was no better - There were no instruction manuals for any of the appliances. Those instruction manuals that we did find at the top of the linen cupboard, amid a jumble of scrappy old notes and papers, were for appliances that had long since been discarded - The very poor, old fashioned lighting, made reading or working at the computer difficult - Apartment was only serviced weekly - There was nowhere to store suitcases - Limited dry storage in bathroom, with only a tiny vanity underneath the basin - Shocking state of some of the cookware: the pan for example was rusted with a dangerously loose handle. The tongs were greasy, when I pulled them out to use them, and looked they hadnt been washed since the last use (or ever) - There was no desk, meaning the only option was to work at the dining table, which was problematic due to the poor lighting and the distance from the nearest power points - We were provided with exactly one cake of soap, and one dishwasher tablet, and so had to ask for more. The dishwasher tablet that was provided, was so old that when I removed the wrapper, it crumbled in my hand - The housekeeper had a weird method of making the bed, using three sheets, one on top of the blanket, so I had to remake the bed myself - Only one blanket provided - Walls are paper thin and we could hear our neighbours coming and going. On the Fri night, it was especially noisy from guests speaking at the tops of their voices in an adjoining room. Luckily for us, though, the place was fairly empty so it was only one night that we had a problem. SERVICE The young manager was friendly and efficient, although the same cannot be said about his assistant. She was polite, but we did not find her accommodating or helpful. Even small requests such as for extra coffee sachets or milk were dealt with reluctantly and often just refused. She did not make us feel welcome. Its also worth noting that the office is only open during business hours and until 12pm on Saturday. COMMON AREAS Although small, the swimming pool looked quite inviting, but being winter we did not use it. The common areas were generally clean and well maintained. There are two lifts although we were advised that we could only use one. It was speedy and efficient, and we never had to wait long for, this I assume being due to the low occupancy. SUMMARY With such a surplus of accommodation in Brisbane now, I doubt whether I would choose to stay here again. The lack of privacy in the bathroom, uncomfortable bed, poor lighting and general lack of service, combined with a less than ideal location, are all a bit of a turn off. There are better options in the city.
