I wouldn't recommend to friends or returnI honesty do not understand on what basis it is currently rated as #14. I am quite easy to please and rarely write negative reviews. But not this time. I am basing this on the following: 1) The breakfast buffet has nothing hot apart from a simmering bowl of sausage in tomato sauce and a tiny bowl of omelette that is always empty. The fruit is nice though. 2) The rooms look nothing like in the photos. Clever photography and high contrast retouching help to that end. I have to admit the the cleaning staff does a very good job though. 3) The staff speaks NO English. Only caught one during one of the shifts that spoke some. That means everything is hard work. From simple directions to booking a taxi for the airport. Finally, 4) The neighbourhood is dirty, loud and dangerous. I could hardly sleep and the hotel is locked behind a fence with a security guy behind the door after 10pm. Next time I will choose a hotel closer to the geographic centre of the city or, ideally, Moinhos De Vento which is a very lively, beautiful neighbourhood.

To avoidRooms are ok and cleaning acceptable, but service is awful and the place is dangerous after 10 p.m. First of all, nobody of the hotel crew speaks English, Spanish or any other language other than Portuguese. I had to use Google Translator to communicate. Morover, the place is well controlled by the police from the morning to 10 p.m., but after that time you can listen to noises of broken glasses and people shouting from your room. I decided to go out 2 nights, but I called a taxi and went to Moinhos do Vento, a safer zone. Finally, I had the wretched idea to ask for the laundry service. They lost my clothes and they told it to me 3 hours before my plane's departure. I hadn't enough time to report it to the police and I had to pay to avoid problems at the border control (they only made a discount of one night, which means 54 euros... a half of the jeans they lost). They promised to find the clothes and send them to my home. I'm still waiting...
