  Outstanding

  My husband and I are in our 30's, just finishing our weekend spa break here. It's everything we hoped for and more. I am a fussy person with high standards, but I couldn't fault our stay. Our room and the hotel itself was immaculate. The pictures online were accurate to the rooms and area of the hotel, in a way they didn't do the real thing justice. We had a superior room which looked onto the garden. The staff were super friendly and went out of their way to make conversation and pay an interest in us. A couple of staff that I can think of had a great sense of humour and we had a bit of a laugh with them. The food....can only be described as exquisite and mouthwatering - well done chef! We also thought our stay was good value for money considering the standard of the food as well. The spa was amazing, clean and modern. Has everything you need, jacuzzi area in the hydro pool with the high pressure taps you can stand under, sauna, steam room and pool. We had massages included in our deal and these were also lovely. We were lucky enough to have the whole spa to ourselves at one point. The hotel have been very covid aware and have made sure everyone is kept safe. We used the gym too which had lots of facilities. I would have liked a little area for mats where I could do some yoga but no biggy. Also if you are ever thinking of doing up the gym, perhaps a nice blue paint or something as its quite grey in there and the goldfish wallpaper is a bit odd :-) - but then, I'm splitting hairs now and was just grateful to be able to use the facilities :-) The attention the lighting, candles, log fire and all the little touches made it all feel very special and romantic. Thanks so much and we would definitely come back.

  Very pleasant country hotel on the edge of Dartmoor

  We stayed for 2 nights here, its a lovely old country house, room was fine (if not very large) with a high quality bathroom. There's a nice swimming pool and good gym, breakfast was really good, evening meal was fine, and service throughout was good too. Very handy for walking on Dartmoor and exploring but you will need a car as apart from the nice grounds there's nowhere to go. Definitely worth a visit.

  Excellent mini break

  Lovely relaxing stay in pleasant surroundings with excellent service and food. Particularly enjoyed the spa with hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room. Friendly and efficient staff and well organised regarding COVID precautions.

  A great find

  We had a wonderful two night stay in this lovely hotel. We really couldnt fault it. The hotel is beautifully appointed and we enjoyed a very high level of service in all aspects. Of particular note were the beautiful and relaxing pool and spa area and the quality of the food. We enjoyed a very good dinner, an afternoon tea with delightful petit fours and a lovely breakfast which was served in the beautiful dining room with views of the moor. We were ideally located to access some fantastic waking on Dartmoor before returning back to the hotel to relax. Highly recommended and we would be delighted to return.

  Lovely pre Christmas getaway

  Great place to escape for a relaxing break, staff all very attentive, beautiful spa area. All felt very COVID secure without it impacting on the enjoyment of the stay. This is my 3rd time staying here and Id happily return again.
