  Lovely friendly hotel by the river and gardens

  Had a fantastic two night stay here. The attention to detail,like the sweeping of the leaves the watering of the plants. The friendliness of the staff really goes a long way. Makes a difference between a great place and a fantastic place. Food beautiful. River and gardens splendid. Rooms great very clean and freshly painted. New carpets. Would recommend. Young girl Alice taking time out to ask us how our evening was thank you.

  If they want support through Covid they need to provide the service

  Have used the bar area regularly but visited today and told it is now table service only. Was asked to take a seat and then completely ignored so walked out. If these establishments want our support in these difficult times they need to improve service, particularly if only table service only. It wasn't even busy at the time

  Romantic escape

  Delightful visit, delicious food and beverage, superb settings, a gem in superb surroundings, thoroughly recomend, any romance seeking couples seeking such a superb venue. Delightful experience, attentive friendly staff, if considering such a situation Go for it

  Little Gem..!

  Stayed here recently for the weekend and after arriving late due to inclement weather conditions, we were looked after by Jamie. The hotel is very clean and warm and in a great location. We ate in the hotel all the time as the food is wholesome and very good value. It also has a good range of ales and drinks. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff and we were looked after very well. I would recommend this hotel to anybody wishing to stay in this area and the town is within easy reach of many popular tourist locations. All in all this hotel suited us perfectly.

  Under the circumstances

  This was a lovely clean hotel and thankfully opened over Christmas to cater for the last minute COVID changes of not being able to stay at my daughters. However we were disappointed that we had no WiFi code given and there was no information in the room and because of Xmas no staff were available to ask. We were not replenished with any more tea/coffee or milk and again no one to ask and even having a wander in the bar downstairs we could not find any and as every where was closed it made it long nights with no drink... I also walked into a metal ring that protrudes from the banister rail on the stairs of which there is no warning and hurt my knee very badly.. when we left there was still no one available for me to pass messages on so we just left our key and went... disappointing as not cheap..
