Fantastic Hotel!
Gorgeous hotel in a truly beautiful location. We had a Tuscany room with a sea view - a good size and very central to all the hotel amenities. It was cleaned every day with fresh towels. The staff are all very polite, helpful and friendly. Breakfast is very good - lots of choice from local and traditional fare through to cereal and toast. The Terrace - which also doubles as the bar - also has a fantastic view. The beach is 300m from the Hotel and lovely - white sand and very clear water - though it was very busy being August! There are several good restaurants within walking distance - I recommend La Nassa and Il Gabbiano in particular. Really didn't want to leave and sitting here wishing I was back there now.......

Average and expensive.
Do not be mislead like we were by the gallery photos on the hotel website! The suite we had which was supposedly 5 meters from the beach is situated away from the hotel and above a very busy and very loud pizzeria with noise till the early hours! Bring your earplugs!!! The hotel which is a long walk up a steep hill is where breakfast is served. The breakfast was very nice and excellent service. The room itself is nicely furnished but because it is so far from the main hotel would definitely benefit from a coffee machine and a kettle if you like to enjoy a bedtime drink or a morning cuppa! The rain shower is also very weak with low pressure. All the staff were friendly and helpful except for the owner who appeared quite arrogant and uninterested in the quality of our stay. Dont expect privacy on the beach ... the sun beds are literally on top of each other at a cost of 25 euros for 2 beds and a brolly! Be careful if you use the car satellite navigation system as there must have been two Ilio boutique hotel once upon a time...we travelled in the wrong direction for 30 minutes to the expected destination only to find out we needed to be on the opposite side of the island and with one road in and one road out we added an hour onto our journey by making this mistake!!! Make sure you follow directions for marsciano. That aside Elba is beautiful but the cost of our room at 570 euros for 2 nights was an absolute ripoff and not worth it were afraid to say!!!

Beautiful Boutique hotel with lovely and highly professional staff on beautiful Elba island. The hotel is a B&B. The staff is super helpful and kind. The rooms are thoroughly cleaned every day, the beds are neatly refreshed daily too. A fan and very efficient air conditioner will help to keep one's head and body cooled during tropical nights. Breakfast is served on the terrace overlooking the 200m distant ocean, the food and beverages selection is fine. You will love the garden, where one can read work relax or sleep in a quiet shadowy corner (at midday it may be too hot there). In the afternoon and evening one can enjoy a drink (very good wine selection with old wine bottles but also a fresh selection) on the terrace. Nice restaurants on walking distance. The owner Maurizio Testa has compiled a list of his favourite restaurants for guest who wish to travel the island. We enjoyed a week without car, it is absolutely not required in St. Andrea. The ocean is marveollous. Excellent options for snorkelling, scuba diving, cycling, exploring. You will enjoy it, we certainly did it a lot! Very quiet location!

Very beautiful in all ways
We spent four days at Hotel Ilio and loved the room, its design, the cleanliness, the sea view and the tranquillity of San'Andrea. Maurizio and the staff were extremely helpful - a superb holiday! We will come back!

PERSONAL MALEDUCADO
Pasé un par de noches en el Hotel con mi pareja en el mes de agosto y tuvimos una mala experiencia con el servicio. Así, pude observar como una de las empleadas del Hotel que se encargaba de los desayunos se reía en un par de ocasiones de mi pareja cuando creía que nadie la estaba observando, esto, añadido a que no es un Hotel acostumbrado a turismo fuera de Italia, provocó que nuestra experiencia fuera bastante desagradable. Por las fotos y las críticas parecía un lugar ideal para pasar unos días en Elba, sin embargo, el mal servicio desmereció mucho nuestra experiencia y nuestra estancia en la isla. Por contra, destacar que el dueño tuvo el detalle de regalarnos dos botellas de agua que habíamos pedido en el bar a nuestra salida
