  Nice Hotel

  Used this hotel for swimming during the day, a lovely pool with great gardens and brilliant views. They have a small charge for using the pool which includes a sun bed. Very friendly and worth a visit when in the area.

  Out of season trip to Calabria

  My wife and I recently made a short out of season trip to Calabria region in Italy to visit the area where my grandparents had immigrated from. We stayed at the Hotel Resort II Partenone during our visit. The staff was very friendly, and helpful with advice on areas that we might like to tour during our stay, since we were obviously there not for a beach vacation [out of season]. The location of the Hotel on top of the hill above Riace Italy has absolutely stunning vista of the Ionian Sea and the picturesque Italian countryside. An absolutely ideal location for enjoying your light Italian breakfast and espresso in the morning. Riace also turned out to be a very reasonably central location for both touring the Calabria region with a short drive to Caulonia [medieval hilltop town}, Reggio Calaberia [Province of Reggio Calabria's seat and airport location], Siderno [larger seaside town} or any of the marina [seaside] towns that dot the Calaberian coastline] and Lamezia Terme [airport location]. I would certainly enjoy returning to Calaberia and staying at the Hotel Resort II Partenone in the future.

  Beautiful pool

  We visited the hotel to use the pool and it was worth the visit. The pool is very well maintained and well appointed with sun beds and chairs. The views from the pool are spectacular with both mountain and see views. The staff were very helpful and polite. There is a bar for drinks and coffee but no food available so we had to drive to a local cafe for lunch

  Pool with a view but no hospitality

  Me & my partner stayed here for 12 nights whilst visiting family. The pool was closed when we arrived as it needed to be cleaned. We asked every day as to when this was going to happen. Eventually 5 days into our stay the pool was opened! The hotel does not provide towels for the pool & if you ask for more towels the answer is an abrupt no. The pool area had fragments of glass around it & towels that previous guests had left by the pool remained there for days!!! We also asked to swap rooms to one with a view bearing in mind we were one of 4 other guests staying there. We were told No as the rooms with a view have no air conditioning!!!!! Breakfast on the first day was out of date dried cracker bread with a selection of jams. Very poor for a four star hotel. We asked for cereal & fruit to be provided for breakfast. The night manager & the man serving breakfast were very pleasant however the remainder of staff need to be more approachable & smile a bit more! And the domestic staff certainly shouldnt be arguing with guests regarding the use of towels! Very unprofessional!!! The location did give incredibly views of the mountain and sea & the pool was very inviting once in use.

  Great Staff and Nice Hotel

  I was surprised how friendly they are and also a really nice hotel to get away of the crowded places. If you are looking for a great hotel, with an amazing pool and a quiet beach this is the right place to stay in the area. Reasonable price with great facilities.
