  A business trip with the conference and overnight stay at this hotel. A family run 4 star hotel where you are made to feel welcome from arrival until departure. Excellent facilities, rooms and catering.

  Nothing special

  End of April we stayed at the hotel Duca DEste in Ferrara, located at the edge of the city, near to the huge shoping center. Easy access from the highway, free parking place. Room nothing special for a 4 star hotel with a very small shower bath , lack of English speaking channels. Breakfast typical Italian, to many sweets and lack of delicacy, dry bread. Lady manager was unpolite, the rest of the staff quite ok. Overall we party recommend stay at this hotel.

  Un moderno hotel en la rotonda proxima al puente de acceso ala cuidad vieja. Habitacion amplia y confortable, baño mas que correcto aspecto impecable. muy buen desayuno, etking para el auto. silencioso y tranquilo

  Rude staff, unfriendly hotel

  I've been visited this hotel during my over night. The pure facilities was ok but the staff were very rude, especially the blond lady on the night shift. Their English are very poor but nothing compared to their attitude. I will never, never go back again!!

  Our recent stay in ferrara

  I typically do not write a review if I have nothing nice to say but I felt compelled to let other people visiting Ferrara know that there are many better places to stay than hotel Duca deste. My father lives in Ferrara and he lives near to the hotel. I thought it would be a good idea to be near his home, so I asked him to check for availability for my family and I. Since the hotel designates itself 4 star, I was not unhappy to agree to the nightly rate of 115. When we arrived the lights in the lobby were off. Coming from the United States Im not used to this especially in a hotel designated 4 star, then we were the only people in a 70 room hotel. The rooms were average but in order to save electricity, the rooms air conditioner would Constantly go off when it reaches the correct temperature but the rooms were always too warm as the units went off regularly. One of the days there was no hot water to shower with. The breakfast was laid out and did not move over the days we were there, everything was stale and old (and we were the only people there, so I know nothing was moved each day). Needless to say after day two we just skipped the breakfast offering. All of this would have been a somewhat acceptable if I didnt find out upon arrival that there are many hotels with rates of 50-70 per night that offer much more for less. Hotels in good locations that would probably be fuller and in theory could charge more than our empty hotel. I can say the night manager, Alessandro, was a nice man, helpful and easy going. The desk day staff were nice enough (and I believe may have been the owners) but having nice staff doesnt make acceptable other services and facilities you expect from a 4 star hotel especially when you pay $145/night. Perhaps they looked at us (we had two rooms) as the people who can pay the total operating costs per day with no other occupants. A couple of tour busses arrived for an overnight stay and its guaranteed they didnt pay more that 40-50/ night. This hotel is definitely not worth the price we were charged. You can stay in the Ferrara center right near the castle for $90 a night. Which is where we will be staying when we get back from Milano Marittima. I guess you can rip off a client once but I will definitely never stay there again and I hope this review helps you avoid it too. Im not sure how you designate a hotel 4 stars in Italy but this hotel barely makes 3. Ferrara showerconstantly
