  clean and friendly in beautiful area

  We stayed a week in a big bungalow in Il Borgo and had a very fine holiday. The bungalow was clean, spacious and fully equipped. The quality of the furniture etc. was average (beds were oke) to good. The view and surrounding area are very beautiful and it is a perfect starting place for visiting wonderful small Tuscan places, enjoying the stunning landscape and relax at various beaches that are close. The centre offers some 50 bungalows in different sizes and there is a small campsite as well. The swimming pools are not that big, but there are three, so most of the time there is place enough. The restaurant or ' osteria' is really very good and the staff is very friendly, offering a kind of ' family feeling'. If you want to be on your own this is not the place, although we had a very quiet and relaxing stay. If you have kids it is a good place, but don't expect disco-life or similar.

  amazing retreat, lovely staff

  At "Il Borgo" I found what I was looking for : relax, peace , good food in a typical tuscan landscape. il Borgo is close to the coast and beaches ( 5/10 minutes drive downhill ) but far enough to be quieter and cooler (yes, in July/august you can feel the chill at night !!! wow !) than any accomodation on the coast . the lovely houses are located in a big park with lots of olive trees , oaks , pines , oleanders and other local flora . each house has a HUGE verandah which is one of the things I loved most . what more could you ask in a location like Toscany than a big verandah where you can have breakfast in the morning , a good wine at sunset and a nice latenight chat looking at the stars? it may seem funny but that's what really amazed me during my stay! I miss the AMAZING view. when you leave Il Borgo, if you don't like the beach life , you can head to the beautiful small villages at just few minutes drive like Montescudaio, Guardistallo, Casale. with a little longer drive you can go to Castagneto Carducci , Bolgheri or Volterra. the insite restaurant has local tasty homemade great food but at the reception , they can address you to more restaurants in the area if you want to try something else. all houses have a view, an equipped kitchen and the above mentioned huge verandah . the staff is always ready to help and smiley . it's the second time I go and can't wait to be back!

  Perfect place for your vacation

  Beautiful vacation village with houses and camping spots to rent, several swimming pools, bar, restaurant with delicious food, shop with local products - all of this in lovely Tuscan nature, in a quiet place, surrounded by olive gardens, and just a short ride away from the sea. All expectations exceeded! Thanks to all the friendly helpful people who work there.

  great place to start your holidays

  We have been there for the 3rd time now and it is still a great, family friendly tuscany place to enjoy your holidays and have great food in the Osteria. It is a combination of holiday houses, camping and appartmens which gives a great atmosphere between all the people and nationalities, We stayed in the "new" appartments near the restaurant, which is clean and has all the needed facilities.
