Ikara Safari DeclineSo this our 4th stay in one of these glamping tents. We have noticed a decline over all facets of our stay. The tents werent ready at the advertised time of 2pm after a long sightseeing drive. The desk staff were completely disinterested, customer service was poor. We werent told there was a party on for the afternoon/evening in the large Ikara tent. We had brought family from England who were desperate to visit the Flinders Ranges and their quiet time by the fire watching the stars was not to be. This was very disappointing. The tents are deteriorating, the fridge was cracked and had no shelves in, there was no normal English breakfast tea in one of the tents. The towels have seen better days. For the price of these tents we really expected better. The glamping experience here is not what it was. We stayed at Rawnsley Park Eco Villas last night, which were amazing, so we know what we are talking about. The only saving grace this trip was being able to sit around a campfire watching the stars. To the owners, you will lose customers in the Ikara Safari Tents if you dont attend to them.

2nd Time GlampersWe were here last year in June 2018 & loved it so much we stayed again in September 2019 for 3 nights. it was good to see the Flinders Ranges in a different season. Fabulous grounds, we did the the hike to Mt Ohlssen Bagge (rated grade 2), Sunset Tour with Mick, scenic flight over the pound. Staff are all friendly & very informative (special mention to Mick) I reckon we will be back again next year.

GlampingWe stayed 2 nights in a Safari Tent and were pleasantly surprised after reading negative reviews. The tent was comfortable and clean although the bedding was not warm enough for the cold nights we experienced. The power was off for maintenance on one of the days but we had warning so spent the day exploring. The only problem was that it took some time for the water to be restored. Food in the bistro was nice and the staff were very friendly. Some parts of the resort are looking tired but the location is amazing.

Beautiful PlaceRemembered the old Wilpena when used to go camping in Parachilna Gorge some 40 years earlier. The new modern Ikara-Wilpena is a total new comfortable place that highlights it's Aborigine Heritage and with lovely accommodation and restaurant facilities, plenty of bush walks and enough to explore the surrounding town like Blinman and Parachilna.

Ikara Safari CampPaid $640 for two nights but unfortunately was nothing like we expected. No kitchenette, no cutlery, no TV.. quite far from the pool etc. View was amazing however definitely not $640 worth. Just not quite sure how its worth $640 or where our money is spent.
