Fabulous Service and Onsen Dinner, Great Stay - Highly Recommend! We went to Ijikajyo in late December, taking JR train to Toba after visting Ise Jingu Shrine. It was approximately 45+ minutes drive from TOBA JR station, via scenic coastal road. The hotel shuttle was a 10 seater van, collecting hotel guests on the ground floor of the station, adjacent to a Taiyaki shop. Upon arrival, luggage were carried by hotel staff and the staff at the reception desk received us warmly. Chocolate and special drink were offered to us in the lounge area before we were showed into our room. The room was spacious, with a wonderful view of the sea. The room has a genkan with a Tatami interior, with a 1980s old deco flair. The room is very clean and comfortable, shoes are taken off in the door area and slippers are available inside the cupboards. The room has comfortable central heating and working hot water. One of the highlights in our stay is the Onsen Dinner! One of the best food taste in our trip in Ise. It features a seasonal menu and various local delicacy including the famous Ise Lobster and nearby Matsusaka Beef. The sashimi were very fresh and the chawanmushi was exceptionally tasty! The onsen in this hotel is big, and has a generous bathing area. It overlooks the bay and if you are early enough, you can watch a wonderful sunrise before breakfast. The staff in this hotel is another highlight of our stay here. An elderly Japanese gentleman and the lady who worked at the reception were very generous and volunteer to drive us all the way to Ama Hut () when we told them we will be taking public bus there. Being a mother taking care of two children with 3 luggages, I am very grateful for their help and wish to wholeheartedly thank their kindness and hospitality. Thank You!

Great food Great view and very nice bathsWe stayed here for 2 nights it's 30 mins via the hotel shuttle to the hotel and they only pick up at 4 and 5 pm, the location is great we dined in our room and it was all seafood and some of the best we have ever had, the rooms and the hotel are dated although when you look at the price the quality of food and the baths it's a good deal, the also have a roof top viewing area great for sunsets and the breakfast is japanese with only a few western items, the view is awesome , enjoy !!!

Good family experienceThe hotel is near Ise shrine, but need drive yourself. A little far from train station. The fresh sashimi was excellent. The hot springs was what we were looking for . The experience feeding Hawks was also good for my child.

DisappointingOur 1 night experience was negative because: 1.We could not get a non-smoking room. We requested one when making our reservation. 2.There is no concierge to help move our luggage from reception to our room which is in a separate wing and required going up and down some steps. We are seniors. The young receptionist saw our plight and went out of her way to help. 3.We were rudely chased out of the dining room about 1 hour from dinner time when all we wanted was to look at what seating options are available. 4.The kaiseki dinner was more quantity than quality. Service was not exceptional 5.It cost us Y500 for use of the ping pong table. At a resort??? 6.For the price charged for 1 night's stay plus dinner and breakfast we did not feel it was good value for money. 7.English is non-existent so unless you speak Japanese or Chinese it is hard to communicate. Having said all that, the view from the dining room and our bed-room is quite spectacular. With a facelift, better management and improved dinner quality this could be a world class resort.
