2. Tienes que pedir taxi para todo. Estás apartado del mundanal ruido Muy buena relación calidad precio

ExcellentStayed in Orchid villa for 4 nights at the beginning of June. Everything about our visit was perfect - the villa was very nicely furnished in typical Thai style and maintained to a high standard, including a daily visit to clean the lovely pool. Service from the Eastern European ladies on reception was absolutely brilliant - they were very friendly and always happy to answer questions/deal with requests/organise transport etc. I would highly recommend paying a little extra for breakfast which is prepared in-villa by the lovely, friendly Thai ladies every morning. Thanks for a great holiday!

Day excursionKunta and his crew were absolutely fabulous. Warm, welcoming and made our trip very comfortable and safe. Their boats are also very clean. I Highly recommend this company and would use them again on my next excursion.

Private beach by day, private pool by nightIf it was not quite so hot at the time of our visit, we would definitely have enjoyed our visit somewhat more. We had arranged for airport pick up which worked out without any glitches. Upon arrival, we were met by Dinah, the GM for the resort who personally made the effort to allocate a one-bedroom villa for us where we would be able to have our privacy as this was an anniversary vacation. Idyllic consists of clusters of villas, which means that some of the villas, such as the one I stayed, actually has a separate building for a one-room villa, a two-room villa and a three-room villa but sharing one central pool under one main villa name eg Lotus followed by individual villa names, Red Lotus, Blue Lotus &White Lotus. I was a bit confused about this during the booking but Dinah let us have a compound where guests would not be checking in during our time of stay. This was so appreciated as my husband and I could have a private swim in the pool each night (it was way too hot to swim in the day). I was so surprised that the water in the pool was so warm, I thought it was a heated pool. So I could swim longer than usual since I would not feel cold no matter how late it got. The pool drops to about 1.8m at the far end with quite a steep downslope. I normally prefer pools that are 1.2m throughout. Only on my last day did I realise that you could actually get cute, large floats in the shape of a handphones, watermelons, doughnuts, swans etc which they offer when you have children, but I would have loved to have had them to float around in the pool. There are also 4 and 5 bedroom villas good for large families, the best one is right at the beach. As for the room, it was large but a bit too plain for my taste. Compared to the overall size, the bathroom was relatively small and did not look as luxurious as I would have preferred. But we did appreciate the convenience of having a kitchenette with a water dispenser, a large fridge, crockery and utensils. Dinah prepared a welcome token for our anniversary which was generous of her. There is however no inhouse restaurant here so you will need to walk to either the Wood House up the road for a regular meal or head to Six Senses next door for a more special meal but with great views. The highlight of this stay aside from having the pool all to ourselves this time, was the lovely private beach where we could take our time and stroll sans the crowds at the more popular beach locations. Due to the heat, we would spend early mornings and evenings here to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. You can also arrange for free shuttle service to the nearby Choeng Mon beach where there are shops and restaurants but you will need to find your own way back or pay for the hotel to arrange their van to pick you up after. We paid for the resort shuttle to take us to the Festival Market and managed our own transport back. Just after check in, while we were taking photos of the room and villa, I happened to move one of the outdoor sofa to get a better shot and was shocked to find a live, rather large scorpion hiding beneath it. I rushed out to get the attention of one of the workers to assist us with this dangerous creature (scorpion stings are painful but rarely life-threatening. Young children and older adults are most at risk of serious complications). Although I think this was a one-off experience, please be careful not to leave shoes outside or leave the large sliding doors open. There was also a large spider in the shower which my husband managed to kill with the can of insecticide provided. When you are at a resort, this is part and parcel of the stay. We only fully appreciated the amenities here after moving to another resort with a super small fridge such that we could hardly store any of our fruits or juices we bought on our own. And no comfort of such a large sitting area and dining table.

Like living in ParadiseWe stayed in the "Beach Rose" - the 5 bedroom beach villa with direct beach access, wonderful garden, private pool - consisting of 3 houses (Main house with living room, kitchen, 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, one house with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and one house with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and kitchen). The houses, garden and pool can only be accessed by a small gate coming from the beach and one gate that separates the compound from the rest of the resort. So the 3 house compound including garden and pool is for your exclusive use only. The other resort guests use a separate beach access. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The owner, the manager and the other staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The manager for example reacted to questions via Whatsapp within seconds. The views from our villa were breathtaking. The bay is very shallow and near the shore there are some big stones in the water. So you should wear light beach shoes to cross the first 10 meters or so. If you stay in the middle of the bay and walk into the water there is a sandbank without any stones. If you make it there with your kids they have a nice place to swim and play because it is still very shallow there. In case you want to swim you just walk a few more meters away from that sand bank it will be deep enough to swim for adults. I recommend floating on the back in the middle of the bay - you have to try to stay awake because it is so relaxing. You can feel very safe in this resort because there are plenty of cameras and security guards (the ones from the resort and from several other luxury resort in the bay patrolling the resorts and the bay in the night). We had a rental car during our stay - it gives you the freedom to easily explore the island - even the farest point of the island can be reached within 1 1/2 hours. But many of the things to see are within 20 -30 minutes drive. The price for having a very relaxed stay in a wonderful calm bay and direct beach access from the resort is the distance to the hustle-and-bustle of the rest of the island. Many resorts and hotels on the island are close to the main roads and you can hear the cars when you want to relax on the beach or you have a nice sea view but the photos don't show you that you have to cross a main road or use a hotel shuttle to go to the beach. You don't have to expect one of this downsides in this resort. In case you want to enjoy the resort without leaving it or driving you can also order food by delivery services (in Thailand you don't only get fast food via delivery services - nearly all restaurants deliver food from their regular menu) ...or you eat at one of the nearby restaurants...or you use one of the well equipped kitchens. In total - one can say - it was a stay like in paradise.
