  Excellent Onsen Hotel

  Located 1 hour from Sendai, Ichinobo Hotel is an excellent property. Decorated with a modern feel with a Japanese touch, it offers guest a great Onsen experience. They have both indoor and outdoor onsen pools. Staff are extremely helpful and some do understand basic English.

  serenity just a short train ride away!

  a short train ride east takes you to matsushima where there is the open ocean and a short ride west takes you to sakunami onsen in the mountains! there is a yellow shuttle waiting when you get off the train, you can't miss it. you'll arrive at the resort driving through an amazing area that makes you realize you made the right choice. 1500yen gets you the day at the onsen where there is various springs to dip into including the outdoors (best views by far). after becoming steamed and free of the nastiness you must've been carrying in your system from traveling you can relax in an area with complimentary coffee, tea, ice pops, etc. how can you go wrong? it's a beautiful onsen right in sendai's backyard.

  Great day trip from Sendai

  Just about doable even without speaking Japanese. Train ride from Sendai - shuttle bus from station. Several baths to choose from though best to pick your times as some only open at certain times. Be good to have your own (or rent) a yukata or similar to make it easier to go between outdoor baths (if you're a day visitor). Nice lounge area with free drinks and ice cream.

  Very good outdoor onsen

  Booked a semi-western room. Room is quite bare. There is a TV, a kettle. There is no tea bags, no snacks that I have grown accustomed to in the room of an onsen resort. However, I later discovered that there is a lounge on the 1st floor whereby free flow of cold drinks, beverages, snacks and even ice-cream are provided. The highlight of this place is the onsen. Apart from the public baths,there are also 3 outdoor onsens. One of which comes with a mesmorising view of the Hirose river. Breakfast was buffet style. Lots of choices and very delicious. I did not take the dinner package. Overall recommended for a break, if not just for the onsen

  Fantastic onsen experience

  it's a restful and transquil place for relaxing and getting away from it all. Value for money for great buffet with many delicious food choices. Triple room with private onsen is excellent. Room rate is all inclusive.
