  Location is breathtaking

  Most of the rooms have view from high floors to the ocean. Private beach with nice black sand, accessible also at night. Breakfast so so. Small shop with souvenirs inside. Small sauna inside. Black sand bath was closed on that day, because of taifun. In general very nice hotel, just it could be more clean.

  Excellent location!

  This hotel is in a beautiful location, right on the beach with gorgeous views. It is dated, but very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. The beds were comfortable for Japan. We would stay there again!

  Amazing service

  We arrived at Royal Hotel Ibusuki to find that we were double booked with both Agoda and Booking.com for a room. Mr Lam, the customer service manager who speaks English fluently, helped us to call Booking.com to cancel 1 of the rooms without charge eventho the deadline for free cancellations had passed. As it was raining, we were unsure if we could go for the black sand onsen - Mr Lam arranged for us to take the last shuttle to the onsen. In terms of the hotel room (we booked a twin room), we had a huge room w a separate Japanese sitting room which was very clean. We also tried both the indoor and outdoor onsens, both of which we enjoyed. The outdoor onsen had an amazing view of the sea.

  Nice hotel, nice staff, great view

  We were staying here for two nights, went hiking on Kaimon-dake and had a great time staying there. The Onsen was a little crowded since there were many Japanese tourists. You can rent E-bikes for a small fee and check out the area. Altogether a good hotel.

  Great location

  This is an older Japanese hotel with a beautiful location and a stunning view over a beach and the ocean. Our room was clean and split in two as an western and a Japanese tatami room. We had both the dinner and breakfast and both was very good. The staff was polite and service minded, and spoke English. They were really cute, making a kids corner with games for our daughter in the evening (she was the only kid staying there). They have a shuttle bus service that goes to the Ibusuki sand bath. The hotel needs a little TLC,but has good potential.
