EXCELLENT LOICATIONWe had a third floor, west facing sea-view room which provided a continuous source of entertainment as we watched people on the beach and the ebb and flow of the sea. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the bedroom was functional but the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was more than adequate and the location within walking distance of the town centre was an added bonus. And, of course, it wasn't that expensive. We used the underground secure carpark, which was an extra but if we had parked our car on the sea front road we would still have had to pay. There's no free parking, as far as we could find. If we had a complaint it was only about the poor choice of English language television. Only one American news channel was available (no BBC) and it's news coverage was very poor and repetitive. If a independent family hotel can offer over 150 channels, including 6 British domestic channels why can't a chain of hotels like Accor offer a better choice?

Good hotel but not better than an normal IBIS, except the location if you have seaview.PRO: Room with seaview (Room 118) is OK, but don't expect to be on the first row. The hotel is situated near the beach but in a second row. Room 118 has the chance to lokk between an open space of 2 houses on the first row. Higher situated rooms have more chance to have a more open view. But quiet OK for 20 euro extra. The bed is comfortable and the room is quiet (no streetsound) The parking in front is for free, except from the 01/07 till 31/08 (then men has to pay). The breakfast is good but there is not much difference between the one in a normal IBIS or even an MERCURE. CONTRA: A slice of normal (gouda) cheese instead or in surplus of the local "camembert".

Lovely viewsAlthough we were welcomed kindly by an English speaking host, we do not have many good memories of this hotel. The room was cold and it was difficult to heat. Because of Covid, the room was not serviced although our rooms elsewhere in France were. The room was also very cramped and uncomfortable, with just one small pillow and no blankets to top the duvets. We arrived at peak check-in time to find a large queue and only one person on reception. There were lengthy queues for breakfast which was served in a bleak room, 'canteen style' with plastic trays. You stood in line to have a croissant or piece of bread placed on your plate and you were hurried along - school dinner format! The orange juice machine was hard to operate and coffee was OK (served from a press button machine.) After finishing some lunch-time rolls and a bottle of wine in our room, we placed the ice bucket and plates outside, but these were not collected for three days. Villers sur Mer was lovely but the location of the hotel is not accurately described - it is a long way from Deauville. We understand this was a busy time but the hotel seemed desperately short of staff with overworked kitchen helpers doubling up on reception. A poor experience and we will not be back.
