    good price/quality room

Noisy room because the windows are very old so we could hear the cars passing. Other than that, no problem - the typical budget room. We were able to book it in the evening for a same night stay so that's a plus for ibis budget.

    Disappointing even for the price

We stayed here for 2 nights while travelling to the nearby Download music festival. When we arrived (around 8:55pm on a Thursday) the car park was almost full, but we did manage to find a space (on both nights). The reception was closed, but we were able to check in with the machine in the lobby. The rooms are opened with a keycode system, and on entry the room had a stale smell to it and was very warm. It had been a hot day so we turned on the fan system and I went into the bathroom, where it turned out the toilet didn't flush. I went back downstairs and luckily found the sole member of staff on site as he was about to finish his shift. He was very helpful in fixing the problem by bashing the back of the wall above the cistern ("Le Calcaire!"), which showed this clearly happened a lot, due to limescale buildup in the pipes. Indeed it turned out this needed doing every other time the toilet was used to get it working again. I appreciated his help very much, as there didn't appear to be anyone else on site to help with problems once he'd left. An hour or so later it became apparent that the cooling system for the room had only negligible effect, so we spent a rather hot and sticky night there and resolved to leave the fan on all of the next day while we were out (with the temperature dial still set to the lowest setting of 5 degrees C) to see if this would help. Upon returning to the room that evening all was as hot as ever, except the shower, which now produced only cold water. On the plus side the TV did work, although the lack of a remote was somewhat irritating, and there are no English channels available (fair enough I suppose). The bed was at least still comfy for the price, although a spare pillow or two would've been welcome. Overall the (skeleton) staff were dedicated and clearly doing their best, but the hotel is well overdue for a complete refurbishment. Me and my girlfriend have stayed in many Ibis Budget hotels before, so we know to expect very basic rooms, but they are usually clean and in working order, whereas our room here was grubby and had a fair few faults. As a side note, the (admittedly free) WiFi was slow and intermittent enough that it wasn't worth bothering with after a while. If you're looking for a cheap, basic hotel in the Southern suburbs of Paris, there are better options.

    How not to run hotel

Very inattentive reception on arrival. Paid over 80 euros for hotel with breakfast. Very poor supply of food in breakfast area. Very strong smell of smoke in common areas. Room not clean. Couldnt get back into the room after breakfast...why??... Disturbed at least 3 times to exit the room even before 11am. Ive stayed in Bayeux, chaterault, Issoire, Carcassonne budget hotels in the last 2 weeks. This hotel was most expensive and worst weve been in.

    AWFUL

At the entrance spilled chips......very very dirty appearance added to that the smell of tobacco, brought one back to the 1990s. The gentleman on the reception found it a mighty inconvenience to find our reservation The hall on the first floor landing really smelled of definitely tobacco......the code for the door did not work...the same gentleman found it most onerous to move himself up the stairs to investigate In the best basil fawlty tradition he hit with his fist...nothing happened...used his master key blew in the lock to be greeted by a shower of dust.....its that sort of place. The shower showed signs of flooding almost certainly the plug hole was blocked As the door locks were damaged we propped our suitcase on the inside At breakfast time there was by ibis standards, which is generally very good, little on offer On asking for milk same gentleman, looked as if he would have preferred to split the atom Checking out time is midday...between nine thirty and eleven am,when we left, there were three knocks on the door....the last one was arrogant to force us to check out.......NOT GOOD If looking for a hotel in this area of outer Paris please please avoid Of all the ibis hotels i have stayed in and ibis is a good brand.....this is the absolute worst....the big big irony is that it was also the most EXPENSIVE
