  Poor Value: ants and poor communication

  The poor communication was actually the Ibis call centre who gave me a quote in $US without telling me, even though I am an Australian traveling in Australia. So what was removed from my bank acc was 50%more than what I was quoted plus I had to pay an international transaction fee to the bank. And even though I spelled my name and email address to the agent multiple times, he still got it wrong. On the evening we were meant to book in, I still had not received an email so I rang back the call centre and had a similar difficulty. Somehow the agent managed to get my email right but booked the room in the previous agents spelling of my name. So when I got to the hotel, they said they had no booking in my name. Luckily I had the email which is when I realised she had misspelled my name so badly (beginning my family name with Ch instead of J even though I had explicitly said J as in Jack. When we finally got to our room, there were ants all over the desk which, in the night, came onto the bed. And there was no remote for the television. I have stayed in 4 star hotels for a similar price. Ibis needs to pick up their game. Dissatisfied! BTW They did offer me a 10% refund for the US currency issue but the difference between $98 and $143 is more than $14. And chances are they will refund it in $US which, with the international transaction fee will reduce it even more.

  One nighter!

  I wanted a bed/shower room for one night close to the airport. Researching all the places advertised I was surprised to see how much a room is for night and what the room offers. Perth is expensive! Ibis Budget Perth Airport location is fantastic. Just a skip and jump and I am at the airport. The place is worn out & outdated & very simple and basic. A renovation or new life would be great but I found the place clean which is always a bonus. The walls are thin as I could hear the man coughing next door and voices out in the passage. There are takeways across this very big road (be prepare to run across or go down to the traffic lights).

  Never again.

  Booked and paid online upfront. Arrived at a reasonable hour (1900) and used the after hours entry, which is fine but this woman came running across the road screaming at us. I was alone with 2 young children so this was pretty scary, got inside the locked door of the hotel only to find this woman had an access key to obtain entry to the hotel! Once in the lobby she began to yell at us for cigarettes, money and food. Clearly under the influence and a regular user of Methamphetamines. She retreated after my youngest began to cry with fear however continued to tell at us as we attempted to climb the stairs... they dont tell you there is no lift! Frightening experience. Once in the room, we discovered we had been given the wrong room. The after hours manager spoke very little English but within half an hour we were in our correct room. The room was average in its cleanliness. The shower horrendous, would have got cleaner by washing under the sink tap, and no bed covering supplied for the top bunk. We ended up barricading ourselves in the room with suitcases because the screaming woman continued up the hallway for the next hour or so before presumably police arrived. Children were scared out of theiry minds, no-one slept. Never again.

  One Nighter

  Having been forced to escape SE Asia due to covid19 we flew into Perth at about midnight with no luggage (stayed in Singapore airport) and this hotel provided a base for a nights sleep. Ten minute, $10 Uber ride from the airport, our room was on the 1st floor and although really small, the bed was comfortable and provide a good nights sleep. The guy at check in told me he closed at 3am so be aware of that. Otherwise, it was fine.

  Not impressed

  Very basic facilities would have appreciated milk for my coffee. Very small room room and was dirty. Ants all over the beds. Bed was comfortable & bedding thankfully was clean. Good location on the Albany Hwy and lots of facilities close by. Wont be going back.
