Extended Bank Holiday Weekend BreakThe hotel was as pictured and set in amazing rural countryside with amazing views of the surrounding hills towards Buttermere and Cockermouth. We stayed in a luxury room to the side of the main hotel which housed a king size bed, single bed (presumably doubles as a family room) and a spacious bathroom with corner bath and shower over. The hotel had been modified in its layout to support COVID 19 and to ensure space, segregation, safety of guests and staff and social distancing. The room was clean and maintained well and gave no concerns of risk or safety. This was the same throughout the hotel and staff were mindful of this throughout. Food was good with a reduced menu having eaten two nights in the restaurant. Breakfast was limited in choice given again a Reduced menu but plentiful and hot. Hotel is in a great location for exploring the Western Lakes and costal area. Good value overall given time of year and a lovely hotel in a great setting. If I were to make a recommendation for improvement it would be for a safe in the room, maybe a fridge with some bottled water and a towel rail in the bathroom to replace the old convection heater.

Overnight stay during cycle tourWe stayed here during a cycling tour of the Lakes Passes, very friendly , very clean, well presented, great service, great food, great location. Couldn't ask for anything more. Thanks to all the staff, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent hospitalityIt's difficult to assess something during this time of Covid, when so much has to be done differently, but I had a great time. I stayed 10 days, so this review comes from a fair experience of what Hundith Hill has to offer. Firstly, my room was comfortable and the bed gave me a good night's sleep. The en suite facility was well appointed (e.g. hair dryer and iron and ironing board) and the room was beautifully serviced every day. I was there on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal and found the food well prepared, tasty and served in generous portions. They sometimes defeated me! There were no long waits between courses either, the staff were attentive and friendly and I was never aware of any complaints from other guests. Hundith is designed mainly for functions rather than for individual fellwalkers like me, but given that I ended up here because my original hotel had had to close during the Covid crisis, I have only praise for the way I was looked after. Thank you to everyone for your courteous and friendly hospitality. I have no hesitation in recommending Hundith Hill Hotel, and if you're a fellwalker, Keswick and Buttermere are each only 30 minutes away by car.

Short break in trying timesWe booked the Hundith Hill as a UK staycation after cancelling a holiday abroad. It was a fabulous choice. The hotel is on the northern edge of the lakes but within easy drive of the district and all the sights. Amazing location in the country side with great vies. Staff were brilliant, very helpful and they have the hotel set up well in the circumstances. we felt safe and comfortable throughout. The hotel is clean and well kept. The food is fantastic, even if they say the menu is reduced slightly, the portions are far better than most good quality restaurants or pubs and the breakfast is gut busting. Really enjoyed it and can recommend it.

A step back in timeA lovely hotel, which has an old style quality & layout. Well cared for and superb staff throughout. Magnificent views from all directions. These are difficult times to provide a fair review as conditions of spacing for safety are enforced which force a loss of atmosphere for meals. However the food itself is absolutely first rate & carefully provided. The serving staff could not be more friendly & accommodating. The rooms are a little dated with furniture but are spacious with all the amenities anyone could require. Certainly off the beaten track but a jewel of a find for us. We enjoyed a good night with our meal & rest plus an ample 'full breakfast'. Well worth a visit.
