  Xanadu /Dont stop me ... cue your happy song

  I wrote a big story like everybody else then I deleted it , thing is hunchys hideaway treats everyone like they are the only couple in the world at the romantic interlude Utopia ...its great , you can feel the serenity ,close enough to Montville main drag to grab a bite to eat , shout out to The EdgeCafe and that waffle /Dutch pancake place YUM ... I wanted to book next visit the minute we walked into that fantastic Fig Tree cottage ... personal touches all the way , only negative .....is that we had to leave ...

  Beautiful lil spot very private

  We had a lovely 2 night stay recently (Sept 2020), food in our room was plentiful and very tasty, more than enough for two people. The shopping in and around Montville, Melany and Mapleton is great, so much to see and do. A few minor issues but easily resolved with speaking to the owner Andrew. Heaps of hot water which was perfect for shower and spa. Just remember to take some mozi coils for relaxing on the veranda!

  Privacy, nature, relaxing, romantic

  Visited for our 20 year anniversary. We are animal and nature lovers, and seeking a private, relaxing, nature-filled escape - so this was perfect. Situated in a lush gully below Montville, surrounded by dairy farms (you may here the cows mooing in the morning). Cottage dated in style inside but amazing privacy, nature, animal life, service and just pure relaxation. Nearest cottage was barely visible through the thick rainforest scrub. We sat on our verandah for hours on end listening to bird calls, hearing the rustle of native animals, and lapping in the privacy. First night - a wild echidna strolled up to our deck within 2 feet! Second night - a possum and her baby strolled up a branch overhanging the deck. All weekend a skittish but beautiful brush turkey ventured into our deck to say hi. Bird calls through the day, frogs at night. Full kitchen amenities with gas stove. Spa was exceptionally clean. Bed very comfortable. Our Fig Tree cottage had a private driveway. Provided with multiple self-prepare options for breakfast and snacks - cereal, local fresh yoghurt and berry compote, full big breakfast ingredients, scones with jam and cream, range of tea and coffee. We loved that it was all there upon arrival in the fridge so we could choose when we used it and we weren't interrupted for the whole weekend. Close to Montville and Maleny but frankly we didn't want to leave the deck of the cottage. But we did and loved the Maleny Gardens and Bird Aviary Tour - a must do! Note: most shops in Maleny and Montville close early on Saturdays, there are limited takeaway food options and restaurants are often booked for weddings - plan ahead!

  Great Place shame about the bed

  We would have given it 5 stars except for the bed. Very hard, and you could feel the the springs. The figtree cottage was delightful, if showing some age in places. The buffet supplied was excellent, including fresh flowers in the room. Every thing that you needed was supplied including insect repllent. We had paid for 4 nights to celebrate our welding anniversary, but after the third night we were too sore and tied from lack of sleep to even try and relax, so we checked out early only to be told nobody else had complained about the mattress. If they replaced the mattress or added a topper then we would highly recommend this for couples. Our favorite getaway is still the Mouses house rainforest retreat in Springbrook. PS because of the remote location tv is via satellite, so if it is raining you wont get any reception.

  Wanted to stay longer but reality called me back

  Most amazing place shut off from the rest of the world panorama cottage was absolutely amazing and worth it... was a massive surprise and all the extras my partner asked for they delivered on, all around the best experience and time had with my now fiancé as covid ruined a lot last year but now I will remember this weekend as they time my soulmate asked me to marry him
