Very special place and wonderful hosts!!!

Im late in submitting this review but I cant say enough about our stay here. We had a wonderful visit largely due to our hosts. They were so accommodating and generous. My Mandarin is very limited but we got by using Google translate. The food was yummy and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. Id definitely stay here again and hope to come back in the future!

    Wonderful hospitality

We stayed in all three of the wooden huts . Came with free wifi , tv, mattresses on the ground and a toilet and shower as well as aircon . The owners of this place were wonderful offering free pickups to and fro from train stations . They also offered good advice on how to get to Hua lien Da dong men market . We also had delicious millet wine , plum wine and black glutinous wine specially brewed by Ah Xiong the owner himself . Fantastic . He also owned a sausage stall up the wangyang trail so if you get there you get free sausages to eat . Breakfast was simple but very delicious and adequate. Thoroughly enjoyed it . They also have a friendly cat with yellow eyes . Only dislike - some of us were bitten by insects outside the huts so do not sit there too Long . They have a small dining room with plenty of benches , free water and biscuits . Go there instead . All in all very friendly , helpful and well run . Will definitely return .

Homely little hut with gorgeous view

If you like a beautiful home with lovely host who will recommend you local tribal food and offer you homemade plum wine, pineapple wine and homegrown dragonfruit. This is the place to be. We had a nice night of chat with the hosts. Love it.

    Remote but very nice

I stayed in one of their cabins for the experience of it and it has been one of the more expensive accomodation during my 2 weeks in Taiwan but by far they served the best breakfast (nice toasts, dumplings, vegetable pancakes, passionsfruits & more) and I liked it a lot. The host were also extremely friendly and caring communicating via google translate which worked fine. They were giving me rides since I had no car and even paid my taxi to Xincheng station on my way home. And they kept on serving small delights, crackers, selfgrown food for me to try whenever I spend time in the spacious breakfast room which had views on the foggy mountain hills. They are well connected in the area and very knowing which trails are good or which are closed. It is a bit circumstantial to get there, yes, but I doubt you regret your stay. As for the 1 point review: it is a bit harsh considering you did not even stay. So, you have seen nothing of the place's benefits. And a few taxi rides would have cost you so much less than paying twice for lodging. You missed a nice experience, I'd say. And btw it's a cement factory in the hills and makes a cool photo.

    Lovely stay

You need a car but it is very close to the taroko park entry. We stayed in the house which was very spacious. A great home cooked breakfast to fill you up for the day and home made wine to finish. Dinner options also require a car and are a bit limited if you only want to travel nearby. But If you are planning to visit the taroko park and have a car I thoroughly recommend
