  Exceeded my expectation

  We stayed at this boutique hotel for 3 nights because it was on the list of recommended hotels by my father's company. The hotel was not luxurious but it was clean, spacious, quite, and convenient (10 mins walk to the train station). The receptionist would stand up every time we entered the hotel to greet us, it was a bit unused to at first but we really liked the gesture. We stayed at a corner room on the top floor that came with a combined sauna/shower room in the bathroom. We did not get to use the sauna but the shower was spacious and it came with body jet shower panel. The room was clean and tastefully designed with white linen, flat screen TV, mini fridge, desk, and all the amenities you'd need plus cookies to go with your tea/coffee. AC and wifi were nice and strong. Breakfast was another plus and it came with full spread of taiwanese style and western style. I'd highly recommend this place!

  / air con. is terrible...

  There were various weired smells like smoking and others in the room, and even on the sheet... While felt too cold in the room, the room service people replied the better way was to open the window of the room where located above the main street of downtown, because of their air con. would not work below 22.5C ( with no heat and no fresh air!!) Only breakfast was acceptable.

  Friendly hotel

  Stayed at this hotel for the second time, and it was as good as I remembered from the previous trip. Summary: The staff are warm and friendly, they certainly make the effort to speak English, which is great. The atmosphere of the place is welcoming and cannot be faulted. The room: like many hotels in Taiwan, the rooms are a reasonable size, but not big. Plenty of room to have a king size bed and still move around. There is a desk with sufficient power points - again great for the traveler with many electronic devices. The room was always clean and tidy (at least when I came back each day, rather than just before I left ) The bed itself is large and comfortable, so always a good nights sleep, and even the air conditioning seems to get quieter when all the lights go off. Good quality aircon, keep the room at a nice temperature without being too noisy, and as above, seemed to be quieter at night. WiFi I think has been upgraded, it is a lot stronger and faster. Though did have trouble with FaceTime connecting, though that may be nothing to do with the hotel. The bathroom was slightly compact, but had everything you needed, bath, shower, toilet and sink. There is a little spare space to keep toiletries, but not a lot. Breakfast: not a huge choice, certainly not for a western preference. But certainly adequate. There was a choice of about 5 or 6 different dishes, plus bread/toast. Overall a very nice hotel, one I'd be pleased to return to.
