  Unforgettable stay

  Super great grand hotel. Very spacious lobby, excellent service and staff. We had 2 nights stay here. Beautifully decorated n very near to Jiuzhaigou Romance Park. We had wide selection of food for our buffet dinner n breakfast. Extremely happy to spend our holidays here. Very convenient to go shopping for local products, souvenirs n special collection. Can go for stage show performance at the nearby theater. Local seasonal fruits can be bought from farmers along the road side in-front of the hotel.

  Resort Hotel

  Big hotel, spacious room, good variety of breakfast, polite staffs, strong wifi. There are tibetan show theatre, minimarkets and shops nearby There's indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Overall, enjoyable hotel for holiday

  Amazing Staff and a Fantastic Hotel

  An incredible hotel which is, unfortunately, being hit by the lack of tourism in the area since the earthquake. This is an incredible place to stay based on the quality of the rooms and also the sheer brilliance of the staff. During my stay, despite limited English, the staff patiently communicated with me in Mandarin and helped me and my friends secure a bag that had been left on the long-distance bus. They also facilitated getting drivers and helping us through a variety of situations going above and beyond the expectations of the hotel staff. Truly 5* service. The breakfast is excellent, the first hotel I have stayed in China which served good quality bread alongside the usual stuff. The massages are very good quality but unfortunately, while I was there, the pool facilities and hot springs were empty. A great hotel to stay in to visit the area.

  Room for improvement

  Howard Johson Tianyuan Resort Jiuzhaigou gets all the basics right. The rooms are large and spacious. Its location, near to Jiuzhaigou National Park, is convenient. There are also a number of shops and restaurants nearby. Breakfast served is average. However, one would expect more from a global name like Howard Johnson. One huge peeve is that the water temperature can never reach a "goldilocks" temperature. During my 2 nights stay there, it was always either scalding hot or freezing cold. Most of the staff are also unable to speak English, making communication difficult. To give them the benefit of the doubt, some of the shortcomings can be blamed on the earthquake which occurred in August last year. One of the wings, which includes the fitness centre and recreation centre, remains closed. Most of the restaurants and cafes in the hotel are not open either. There are also fewer guests than before, making the hotel feel rather sparse. Here is hoping that Howard Johson, together with the rest of Jiuzhaigou, will be able to recover speedily.

  Really good grounded coffee

  As you walk through the resort there is a fair tale like garden/dinning area. A variety of facilities available for activities including a gym, spa, and a parent/kids area for children friendly fun. Within the resort there are shops for last minute gift shopping. Friendly staff offering personal welcome and transportation assistance. Worth mention, they have really good grounded coffee!! I didnt think I could have this type of great coffee in the middle of the mountain!
