  Clean, straightforward accommodation with friendly service

  A good base for walking in the local region. The food was ok, but breakfast a bafflingly complex affair. At other times, the whole place was eerily quiet. Rooms comfortable but a little outdated. Service straightforward and helpful.

  Our favourite hotel during a 2 week walking trip in the Harz

  We loved this unpretentious hotel. Clean, quiet, comfortable, spacious rooms with facilities for hot drinks. The lift wasn't working but staff helped. Breakfast was self service and we made up our own picnics from the food laid out with bags and bottled drinks provided. The evening meals whilst on half board were tasty, simple and well presented. The vaulted underground bar was open on the Thursday and the vibrant local street market was adjacent to the Hotel. The tourist information centre and bus stop to Goslar were within a couple of hundred yards .

  Lovely hotel, nice staff and good food

  We stayed as part of a point to point holiday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good, even for us awkward vegetarians. The market on the street on the Thursday night was brilliant for local atmosphere.

  Too expensive for what you get

  Big nicely decorated room with a great bed, but very noisy. You hear everything they say in the hallway. That is, with the door closed, and that is not so pleasant especially not at night when a group of drinking Dutchmen passes by. They were there again at breakfast and that was not nice either. Incidentally, the breakfast was not as good and extensive as at other locations in this area. Nice building from the outside, but with defects on the inside and you really pay too much for this.

  Small hotel in a small town

  It is a small hotel in a smal town so don´t expect anything fancy. The building itself is wooden so you will wake up when someone else wakes up. The bed is OK, but the blanket was quite small, luckily I am not a huge person. Ameneties are fine so all-in-all it was a good stay. Breakfast is small but don´t be afraid to ask for eggs etc. The biggest plus is the sauna, a huge plus in my mind, beatiful new sauna with a very relaxing vibe!
