Really WonderfulThe hotel is so cute, it was like staying in a part of history. The building is not modern or uddated if that is what you prefer, but if you like the historical feeling, this is a great place. It was very hard to find but worth the effort. I have one big complaint, they advertise (and our confrimation stated) that there are minibars in the rooms. I sent a special request to the hotel, mentioning the importance of this since I have medication which must be kept cold. I think if a hotel claims to have minibars, they should have them. But the lady who runs the place was so nice. She was so sweet that I give the experience a positive review and we enjoyed the ambience alot.

Stolberg, fairytale village however bring a German phrase book! This family owned hotel is set in the most gorgeous picture postcard fairy tale village. We had an attic room which was comfortable and basic, (quite dated) although no fridge or coffee making facilities. T.V was only German channels and no internet. We had dinner and breakfast there and it was great! traditional German style and delicious. A word of warning though, we encountered no one in the hotel or town (including the tourist info centre) that spoke English, so it was a bit of a struggle, and in retrospect we wish we had of bought a phrase book or phone with us as conversing was extremely challenging esp. as we had found in our travels that most Germans we encountered were fluent in English...although the elderly lady from reception tried to make such an effort and was very sweet.

Nice, comfortable stayThe room was comfortable, quiet, and secure. My single room was pretty large by European standards. The hotel information said that free Wi-Fi was available in the common areas, but it worked fine in my room as well. The common areas are attractive, with cozy seating areas. The restaurant is excellent, with a large selection of various dishes, including game dishes and vegetarian. The meal prices were a little higher than I had expected, given that the hotel room was such a good price. The breakfast was the usual for a German hotel, but everything was fresh and tasty. Several different cold cuts, cheese varieties, hard boiled eggs, and the usual accompaniments. Not every member of the staff speaks much English (we conversed mainly in German), but they were very friendly and helpful. I would certainly stay here again when in the area.

Very nice and price-worthy stay with a small group of motorcycle-ridersThe rooms were spacy and clean. Beds had good matrasses. We had dinners in the evening very tasty and a big breakfast-buffet in the mornings. Outstanding! In the evening you can walk trough the beautifully restored city of Stolberg with a typical (former) East-German building style.

Nice and cheap stayWe stayed at this Hotel for 4 days during july. We came with 4 days notice and got a family room since we have 2 kids age 5-6. Only thing missing was a minibar in the room. WiFi gave 10mbit and I could watch Netflix with no probs over there FREE WiFi. The Hotel Really does look like the pictures and is keept nice and clean but no high tech at all. Food is solid and price fair, Rooms got fixed everyday and it was runned as a family projekt with a English speaking son ( we are Danish and not good at german) All agreements was kept and I just thought everybody did what they could to make it a pleasent stay. I dont understand the 65% the Hotel gets, had i seen that before going, then I would have missed a great Hotel and a great place for history and tons to see. My opionen is you get way more than you pay for in a original OLD Hotel with nice staff, good beds, decent breakfast, OK dinner and fair prices. We could bring 2 kids without having to pay ekstra and they got there own bed. Stolberg is amazingly beautiful but dont go to that city for shoping. We would go again also to this Hotel
