amazing stayWe were very happy with our stay at AI Hotel Zorna, Porec. We had a room with a seaview. Everyone were very kind and ready to help. We need gluten free and diary free diet, so we would especially like to thank Ms Nevenka for her kindness and willingness to help with the dietplan and Ms Marijaa from snackbar. We would like to applaud also Dora and her animation team, their performace in the musical Aladdin was outstanding. Thank you all the staff at Hotel Zorna for a very pleasant vacation.

Lovely Location - Generous All Inclusive PackageThe location of the hotel is very good - right on the sea front. The reception areas are stylish and well appointed and generally the staff were very helpful and friendly but not all of them. The all inclusive package is very good as one can get alcoholic drinks all day through to the late evening, and there are snacks and ice cream available during the day as well as the normal three meals. Included in the price was the availability of a variety of land and water sports. One could take out a kayak for a couple of hours, or a pedalo or cycles. Other sports were also available at no extra cost. This was an unexpected and valuable added extra. Our room was on the third floor and it was disappointing to find that there was no lift. We were helped with our luggage on arrival but the three flight trek to our bedroom during the day was very tiresome. I had seen from other reviews that the bedrooms were small so I was prepared for this but I was surprised at exactly how small they were. With careful and inventive unpacking, however, we managed. The last negative issue is a small one but perhaps worth a mention - the hairdryer which is provided in the room is the old fashioned 'hotel' type dryer (fixed to the bathroom wall, cream coloured and takes about three hours to merely fluff up the hair and render it damp). I would suggest taking your own. But all in all we really enjoyed our stay at the Zorna Hotel.

Activities includedMixed feelings about the hotel. Staff friendly and efficient. Rooms fine but small. Food not bad but have had nicer in all inclusive else where. Especially pubbing v repetitive. No outside space to sit in restaurant depressing. Drinks nice pool area a bit small. What was great was the amount of activities you could do for free. We went out on kayaks, paddle boat, mini golf , tennis and 3 hours on brand new bikes. All for free. The area is very pretty but quite far out of town. Can take noddy train we perfered water taxi. Wouldn't go there again but good value if you factor in free activities.

Very unfriendlyIf you would like to go on a holiday to be insulted this place is a must, having had the pleasure of paying £3000 to be scowled at, shouted at and ignored. Really unfriendly on all accounts. Hotel zorna is on a large complex which has a lot of things to do such as bike riding boat trips sports etc. On arrival hotel looks beautiful however rooms are big let down. They are very small, and old fashioned bathrooms are tiny with a caravan type shower. Rooms are clean though. Balconys don't exist just a rail with bars over windows. Food is so so, very much the same. Staff going around cleaning tables are extremely miserable and very unapproachable. The all inclusive is a massive let down. Drinks served in thimble sized cups snacks served during 2 short periods. These consist of crisps presented in teacups, twiglets, cheese and ham barms and small cakes. To get one you risk the wrath of being glared at. No consistency with house rules. By the pool, out of all the sunbathers we where singled out for having juice in glasses and told to put them in plastic cups. Bare in mind all the other residents had drinks in glasses. A security guard came marching over shouting at us. Now, if we had been made aware of this it would of not be an issue but plastic glasses are not offered. Very much German and Russian dominated. If you are English you don't stand a chance of survival.

Nightmare on Laguna StreetThis hotel is one to avoid on all accounts. The adverts and pictures really don't reflect the truth. Hotel Zorna is approx 40 mins away from Pula airport, by taxi that's around £100. It is located in quite a remote area but is a massive complex that has a lot of activities, entertainment, bars, and restaurants (thank god). From the outside it looks very fetching however once you have climbed the rather large staircase (not sure how accessible it would be for wheelchair users) the fun starts. The reception is bright and welcoming unlike the staff. Very unapproachable in every department apart from the cleaners. The rooms are very small and cramped with strange carpet and pink sparkly headboard and wardrobe. The bathroom was tiny. All very dated. Shower head dirty. No balcony just weird sort of bars over sliding doors and a peice of cord for a washing line. One main electric socket to use the other hid in a cupboard. The lift very wobbly on transfers and felt like a moon landing. If you enjoy eating lots of chicken innards this is the place for you. Food is self serve buffet of very sad looking food which seems to be the same night after night. Most meats pink on the inside or very pale on outside ( see inedible sausage) my toe had more colour. The all inclusive is a massive rip off. Drinks are in tiny little cups which all taste of soda water with different colouring in them. Cocktails are premade in old bottles on the side or poured from pre mixed drink bottles that you can buy in supermarkets (see photo below)Snacks served between 4 and 5 then 10 and 11pm. Snacks are 5 crisps in bowls or teacups, twiglets in glasses or a cheese and ham bun which are hid under counter. I've cream cones are stale and you are allowed one small scoop. It appears that this complex is mainly Russian and German dominated. Extremely clear the staff do not like English families. Pool is small with room for about 10 beds around it. Apparently pool doesn't open till 9am but these rules only apply to English residents. Most beds taken by 8am (see photo below)Depending on where you are from depends if you can drink or eat near the pool and what type of glass or cup you can have. We over spent as had to eat out. Cafe Aurora is very nice and located next to Hotel Zorna. On leaving the hotel on the last day I handed back keys to just be completely ignored. As a family we made the best of it however I would never return here again. To be honest the whole experience has put me off Croatia all together. I am absolutely disgusted by the behaviour of staff here they should be ashamed of themselves. Perhaps rename as Hotel Amityville? Unless you are German or Russian that is.
