  Not a 4 star you would expect

  Booked this hotel as part of a package with Balkan holidays Arrived around 12am, was checked in quickly and told bus times and breakfast and given keys for our room. We couldn't fault the room, it was spacious, warm and modern. Breakfast was boring, with not much choice and the few hot options were stone cold! When it comes to evening meal it was even worse, hardly any choice and again food was cold. Chips were freezing and when we told staff all they did was move them around and stand back in their place. We were not offered any drinks during evening meal, self service water fountain was the only option. What was even worse was our new years eve gala dinner - it was atrocious spoilt our evening! At 8pm we arrived and were sat at a table with a family of 4 and 2 guests that didnt turn up. Salad was already at the tabel along with drinks. We waited until 10pm!! Until starters were being cleared. Our table complained as children were hungry and a cold piece of soggy fish was served at 10.15pm!! Staff also had no clue what they were doing, standing around, not even listening when customers were calling them. We waited until 1045pm and no food seemed to be coming so we decided to leave what was supposed to be a relaxing, happy evening with a 5 course meal, to being starving after 2 pathetic courses and disappointed as we had paid 1400 pounds to stay at this hotel over new years Bad service overall that evening- complaint was made to the receptionist who said to me they're trying their best.... I did use the pool facilities which were lovely clean and warm, however I refused to give the hotel money by going for a treatment due to the bad service at new years. Staff also seemed very unapproachable to ask questions to I am going to try and claim money back from balkan as I dont feel like I had my moneys worth at this hotel, very disappointed

  At first we were booked in at the hotel strazhite but moved last minute to hotel Zara. We were all very impressed in general with everything. Clean rooms Food had a good variety and well displayed at both breakfast and dinner. Clean and tidy rooms and facilities are at brilliant standard which we used few times in our group and very impressed with the overall service. (Including free shuttle to and from gondola every 15 mins) very friendly and welcoming staff from the drivers all the way across to the bell boy BORIS !!! hats of to this gentleman he was fantastic even to the point of separately carrying 3 suitcases and 2 snowboards to the top floor. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOTEL ZARA

  Excellent experience being a guest in Hotel Complex Zara

  Gladly recommending Hotel Complex Zara, the staff is very kind, the food and other services in the hotel are on the highest level. Best hotel experience in Bulgaria. The receptionists are speaking several languages as English, Russian, Germany. The choice of food is big, the pools are warm, the spa is very clean.

  Perfect Hotel near the center of Bansko

  Very nice hotel located near the ski lift and the center of Bansko. The room was super clean and the view from the terrace was breathtaking. The spa center was amazing with its pool and saunas. For sure all be back again.

  NOT what we expected

  Lets star with the good - the staff was very polite! Thats it. The room was dirty and it smelled like cigarettes. There were blood drops on the table and some weird stain on the night stand, the toilet was broken... We were the only ones staying at the hotel and they gave us a room next to the cleaning ladies - they were shouting all the time, playing music, singing until late hours... how can you relax with such noice? The breakfast was bad... super fake and not ok for a 4 stars hotel. Super weird experience. We were planning to stay 2 nights but left after the first. We dont recommend it.
