  First Class

  Good location away from the Centre of Cochem, but close enough. Ample parking. Owners Frank and Rita supported by a great team really work hard to make your stay a good experience. Clean room, excellent food and beverages. Value for money and the added bonus of owners who know the area and engage with you to add that little extra value to your stay. Go once and if you can, you'll go again!

  NO TACT of the owner (Frank Walter) in case of a death of a close relative

  We booked 2 days in this place. Unfortunately the second day my girlfriend received a call her uncle died...(second father to her). She couldn't stay in this situation and we decided to go back...The owner, Frank Walter, his reaction was very cold/low and without any compassion...I negociated afterwards to refund half of the particular day, by mail (see attachment), namely 55 (instead of the full 110 ) A good deal fifty/fifty (in those circumstances) because he didn't need to serve us the breakfast and the room stayed clean...no cost, and an act of humanity in our eyes...After sending an E-mail not even a reaction after almost one week...Concerning the hotel : Breakfast 1st day: He's presenting his dog (a quite big one) in front of your table where you have the breakfast and stayed and talked as a friend you know for years...(no distance manners) - food (diner at night) quite expensive in comparaison with other hotels and local restaurants - the hotel is situated approx. 3 kms from the centre and not 1,5km as our "commercial friendly" owner tells on the site. Such A Bad Experience Never Again...Resumé : This owner is very (commercial) friendly as long no unexpected things will happen to you...Notified a warned person is worth two !!

  Good choice!

  The hotel is placed between two mountains on the country road down to Cochem. In the restaurant terrace you can hear the sound of rippling water. You have the advantage of coming away from all the tourists in Cochem and at the same time you can easily walk there, or by the road or in 20 minutes through a wonderful forest path. There are some other hiking trails starting by the hotel and behind is a campsite. There is good parking in the hotel yard which felt safe. Bathroom brand new. The staff is very nice and helpful, the breakfast is very good. We had dinner here two nights and I think the food and wine quality was higher than in Cochem where some places felt like tourist traps.

  Small hotel with loads of charm

  This small private hotel just outside Cochem (own transport required) has a great atmosphere. The bedrooms are fairly small as is the bathroom, but it is very neat and clean. There is a lovely terrace to enjoy a drink either in the afternoon or evening. The breakfast (included) was most enjoyable. The owner speaks very good English, but his wife (?) doesn't.   Lovely views . Great steak and wine

  I've stayed at Frank's lovely hotel a few times, Frank is an absolute gent and a very friendly man. His selection and knowledge of wine fascinates me and I have left the hotel with a bigger brain after speaking to Frank. I have stayed in the camp site too, just a mention to the best campsite toilets I have ever seen! The fish out of the pond, they do not get much fresher. However, the steak's are to die for !!! I'm not sure the nan of what I order, I think it's the rump steak and it has a yellow (mustardy?) sauce on top. I still think about this steak and no other has come close! I'll be back (Like Arnie)
