Wonderful OnsenI only visited the Hanasaki no Yu onsen, so my review will not be of the hotel itself. The facility was easy to find and check-in was quite simple. Even without speaking any Japanese other than the basic pleasantries, it was a wonderful experience. I had never been to an onsen before, but it was very simple to follow the actions of others and no one made me feel like an outsider. I started off with about 45 minutes in the the hot spring and finished with a 20 minute back massage and a 20 minute foot massage, both of which were wonderful, especially after the long flight from the US to Japan. It made for a very relaxing afternoon.

Spa resort popular with localsWe spent a night here and got a brief immersion in Japanese culture. They offer you a choice of western beds or Tatamis on Futons. All the bathrooms are western style. You take off your shoes and wear the slippers they give you everywhere. There are yukatas (kimonos) for all guests including Young kids and you wear those while at the resort. They have onsen on the premises with separate ones for male and female, all included in the room rate. One does not wear any swim suits, just go in with a towel which you keep in a locker and take a shower and then soak in the hot pools. I took a nice massage afterwards which we had to pay for . The breakfast spread included western and Japanese fare, but not great. The dinner was a multi course affair with sushi, hot pot, and many other dishes. Theis is a mid priced place and the facilities are old and slightly dated.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy hot spas of various kinds. This was the third times to visit Kanzanji area of Lake Hamana. This time we selected a bit bigger hotel with various spas and an amusement park just in front. The room was not much to say just usual but clean and even attached bathtub which I thought was not necessary as so many spas we can use and spas were really good and enjoyable with many varieties located in 3 different places of different sizes - big and medium, then of different kinds - some good for skin, others good for rheumatism etc. Sauna too they offer. You can enjoy spas almost 24 hours from early morning to midnight. Then about food as we selected viking dinner there were varieties, much more than you can eat but the quality was not there which was a bit disappointing. Of course if we had paid a bit more we could have had better Japanese course dinner. We enjoyed ropeway ride which gives beautiful views of Lake Haman and take us to a famous Lake Hamana Music Box (Orgel) museum, which is worth seeing. The best part was the lucky draw at night in which everybody who stays this hotel can participate and all will get some kind of prize - 1st prize being staying this hotel free of cost for two. This lucky draw attracted many and we enjoyed it very much.

Nice Family HotelVery nice family hotel. The bus ride from Hamamatsu station takes about 45 minutes. The hotel is right across the street from an amusement park and a game arcade. You can walk to the zoo and the beautiful flower park in about 15 minutes, walking along side the water. Beautiful place. The hotel has really nice service. We stayed in the garden wing with a room that felt modern and new, very clean and comfortable. The onsen/spa is very nice. The hotel buffet for dinner and breakfast was fantastic. If you are in Hamamatsu this is a great choice for a family hotel.

Good hotelLocated next and not by the lake hamana, next door to a couple of amusement parks. Spacious room and bathroom, with baclony. Room unfortunately has only one chair to sit back and relax, it has the Space to add a sofa , balcony has two chairs but the addition of a small side table would be appreciated. Friendly and helpful staff. Besides the spa, no another amenities such as a gym or pool.
