    Pedantic

Showed up at 14:56 and was told I could not check in before 3pm. I have not experienced this level of pedantic rule following in all my time in Japan, despite any stereotypes. What happened to customer service? Left by the wayside.

    Clean but very small rooms

This is a new hotel located not too far from the train station. Rooms however are very small. Ok for 1 but no room for two. That said it has all the ususal facilities and there are several reasonable restuarants nearby.

Rooms are too small for 2 adults

3 to 3.5 stars. No drop off zone for a car arrival. There is a racker stacker hotel car park if you were keeping a car for this city visit. Our Nissan car hire drop off location was a 10 minute, flat walk away; just across from the Hakata main rail way station. Fukuoka was the last drive city on our 4+ week, self-drive, all of Japan road trip. As others have commented, even the normally 'larger' in Japan, twin bed std rooms here are VERY small; even by Japanese standards. No room for suitcases. Firm mattresses are supplied, which were appreciated and even a reasonable = slightly thicker pillow. A small; but practical bathroom. No room safe. The window could be opened but room #1112 fronts a busy main road and a high rise car park is being noisily built over the road. A newish hotel (opened mid 2018) and so still very clean but consider spending a little more to go elsewhere and aim for a more practical = larger room; if 2 persons per room with suitcases. Breakfast is $$ at 2000 Y pp and was only ok for a westerner. Precooked meat, etc items are again not kept hygienically warm. I can see why, as others have commented, that the smoke and BBQ cooking smell and breakfast area noise could be an issue to those in nearby L2 or 3 rooms.

    Barbecue at 6am?!?! Why~~~

I would like to know who the corporate genius that thought of having a barbecue breakfast inside the building. I stayed for three nights and every morning at 6am I was awakened by smell of barbecue smoke. I changed rooms after first night hoping that it was just bad ventilation, but this did not help. The building is not designed for cooking in the courtyard, because all the rooms are facing it. Chimney effect!!! I am still waiting for reasonable response from the management. I paid for three nights of good sleep, but I did not get one! So I think I am entitled to some apology or compensation.

Great hotel for a short visit

I stayed here as a solo female traveller in Feb 2020. I stayed for 2 nights, but paid for 3 as I had a late night flight and did not want to hang around for nearly 12 hours. I paid £102 for 3 nights - so great price considering how close you are to the station and 1/2 away from the airport. The hotel is 10 mins max from Hakata Station - so excellent location. The hotel is new, clean and has a free public bath on the 14th floor and free hot/cold drinks on the 02nd floor which was amazing. My room was on the 05th floor 523 - which was right by the elevator - so could be noisy but otherwise was fine. The room is small - but it is bigger then most japanese rooms. The bathroom was big, bath tub deep and shower pressure great. I stayed in a double room - so was fine for a single person but you might struggle with 2, although if I was with my husband we would have been fine. There is no wardrobe so nowhere to put your luggage. Free wifi, kettle and fridge in room. There is also a coin laundry which was brilliant - they have washing and drying facilities. For a short stay you cannot complain, if you wanted a hotel for more then 4 days this may not be the place for you. The only issue is there are only 2 elevators so sometimes it took up to 10 minutes to be able to get into one.
