Mini Moon after our weddingReally welcoming hosts, both the lady and the gentleman on the from desk were very friendly. The view from our room was beautiful, the rooms small but done the job for us to rest our heads. The air conditioner wasn't the best and could have done with a bit more power and it would have been great. I must mention the tele because I do like to watch or have it on while i am chilling out and they have loads of English channels which I was super happy about (the little things in life aye). I loved our stay in here but just some minor updates and it would be perfect - The outside terrace where you have breakfast is beautiful and would be perfect if they had a bar, its just wasted space and you have no desire to stay there as all thats there is tables and chairs but a bit of atmosphere and drinks and I'd be there all night with that view. The breakfast wasn't what I expected and could be better by a long shot - There is cereal however it may have just been this batch but it was stale... there is some fruit a small cold meat plate but thats about it - We got a funny look when we asked for toast. They do cook you fresh omelettes and any kind of eggs but we only had breakfast here once. But breakfast in Croatia is a hard find anyway and you can't please everyone - Many people were satisfied with the food, maybe we are just fussy. The swimming pool was more of a large bath tub as it was tiny and hot so couldn't cool off. I Don't mean to sound like I am putting Villa Vilina down because I am not, we both would stay here again as it is a lovely location. Just a bit of constructive criticism. Good but not great but has the potential to steal the show. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

No existent holidayAfter booking and paying for a holiday received an email saying refurbishment being undertaken, that was it, no other information received no response to emails or enquires eventually found out the place had closed for the refurb, clearly didnt care about customer care. To ignore emails was just rude. Thankfully managed to find somewhere else through booking company love holidays who in general were a useless as useless thing in useless land !

Wonderful location, wonderful hostsLopud Island is one of the small islands in the Adriatic just a short ferry ride to Dubrovnik. The Villa Vilina is situated walking distance from the pier with a fantastic view of the small bay. The first thing we noticed was the cleanliness of the village, the island and the hotel. We were given a wonderful welcome by Robert who is always around and is a great source of information and useful tips on where to go and what to do. The Villa is very comfortable and rather quaint. There are 6 new apartments which overlook a gorgeous quiet pool where we enjoyed the peaceful surroundings (on our own!!!!) . The hotel only serves breakfast, a great variety of Croatian delights enjoyed on a lovely terrace overlooking the crystal clear Adriatic. It doesnt have a bar but this is an advantage as guests get to stroll along the seafront and enjoy the bars, restaurants and there is a great little coffee shop. The island has a permanent population of less than 100 but this grows considerably in the summer months. There are a number of day trippers who arrive for a couple of hours but the evenings revert to peace, quiet and tranquility.

Superb stay at the Villa VilinaFrom the moment you step off the ferry and walk to the Hotel you'll know you've made the right decision. You will be welcomed by the knowledgeable Robert who will tell you all about the island and restaurants and bars, he knows everyone on the island and everyone knows him! We had room 14 at the front and although no balcony it's just great to look out of the window and watch the small but busy port below. Nice, sizeable room with TV and fridge and excellent bathroom with great shower which I managed to break straightaway, however Robert fixed it while we were out with the minimum of fuss. Breakfasts pretty good with eggs cooked to order, the rest is pure continental with cakes, pies and local specialites cooked on the premises the night before - delicious. As others have mentioned it's a shame there is no bar in the Hotel - it has a great verendah and you can bring your own drinks but the addition of a bar would make this area extra special. Access to the swimming pool is throughthe gardens at the back and you have stunning views over the town. Very charming hotel in a superb location, can't wait to go back. The only blot on the landscape (laterally) is the view across the bay of the large and unsightly Lafodia complex which judging by the clearing behind it looks like it could well expand over the years :-( but don't let that put you off visiting this lovely island.
