  Last time?

  I've been staying at this hotel for many times over the years. One of the most beautiful small hotels I've been on my journey's. Service, rooms, location, all are top notch! There is one serious short coming, which will make me doubt if I will return in the future. This bothered me before, but really annoyed me the last time: it is Atelier Sanssouci. To be more precise the restaurant. It is as uncomfortably pretentious as the name suggests and way overpriced. I know the have a Michelin star. But it is a star backed in thin air. My gazpacho consist of two table spoons (!) of soup over some veggies. Not bad, but nothing special. Main course was an overcooked piece of white fish, falling apart on the plate, with very little else. Did not finish my desert, a weird tasting icecream.This was 80,- incl a bottle of water. All served extremely slowly with a huge attitude. Same at breakfast. Little choice, no buffet, you have to ask for every coffee or juice... slow slow slow service. There are little or no alternatives for food nearby. Really make me think if I want to return in the future....

  Enjoyable stay with one minus note for the restaurant

  We came to Villa Sorgenfrei for the Wine Fest in Radebeul. Lovely restored Villa and a very nice quiet neighbourhood not far away from Dresden on the Saxony Wine Trail. Only one negative note...We had reserved a table at next door's restaurant, but didn't realize it had a Michelin star. Usually not our style to dine with a stiff upperlip! We were received by a gentleman with dark spectacles who seated us. The gentleman started of with an impressive list of aperitives(champagne coctails etc.) Once we told the gentleman that we would rather enjoy some wine("you mean as an aperitiv" was his response, it seemed we lost his interest. I also had a funny feeling that "locals" were treated in a far more pleasant way than we "foreigners"(dutch/german). Don´t like that feeling spending a fair amount of money on a meal! Fortunately two lovely waitresses did a much better job and took care of us the rest of the evening. A shame.

  Awesome location in Radebeul, the suburb of Dresden. The real villa as you could imagine it and really nice environment. Parking is onsite and free of charge, however there are some dozens of meters from the parking to the entrance door and so you will have to carry your luggage. Staid here in the end of December, room was located in the attic with two steep stairs and no elevator, I would not recommend for disabled or elderly people. Room was enough clean but merely small due to the mansard ceiling, surely not enough light in the room. Sleeping quality was good, however the bathroom is small a bit dated as well as towels need to be changed. Wifi connection was stable and speed was acceptable. Staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is a la carte, nice alternative to standard buffet breakfasts common all over. Price value is a little bit high but if you would like to find something special this place is the right choice, eventually I recommend this hotel.

  Very beautiful place!

  Cozy villa in quite district. Everything was perfect, delicious welcome drink, some nice complimentary staff! Vintage design, clean rooms! Helpful staff, advice us good restaurant nearby, because hotel restaurant was closed that day.

  Absolutely exquisite hotel

  Surrounded by vineyards and charming gardens, this chic hotel is located in Dresden's Radebeul district. Everything about this hotel is elegant - spacious beautiful rooms, restaurant, breakfast, service. Everything exceeds expectations. I personally enjoy classy and was so happy we stayed here. Staff is friendly and speak English.
