Muy buena ubicacion con una linda vista desde los cuartos y la terraza al Lago di GardaLa atencion y la comida del hotel excelente. Nos quedamos dos noches como base para conocer las ciudades de los alrededores del lago, como Sirmione, etc.

What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful spotWe had just disembarked from a week long cruise and instead of going home we decided to visit Lake Garda for a few days. We are so glad we did. The area is beautiful and the hotel was amazing. It is a villa redone to a lovely hotel. The service was excellent, special mention to Grazia Vanoni, the concierge/front desk. She gave us some suggestions for excursions that were spectacular. We did rent a car which was very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Well worth a visitWe stayed here for 5 nights in August and it was very enjoyable. The rooms and beds are very comfortable and we had a large terrace overlooking the lake as did our 3 daughters (rooms 55 and 59). The pool is great and has lots of large inflatables to lie/play on. Theres a small bar and they serve drinks / lunch etc. They didnt seem to bring towels to the pool until about 10.30am and then only about 10 at a time so the poor waiter had to keep running back and forth. But the pool was never really busy and its a stunning setting above the main road with amazing views over the lake. The hotel has some e-bikes you can borrow and a tennis court as well as spa (currently closed due to COVID) and small gym. The gym is in an old fashioned room but has a few Nautilus machines along with free weights but theres little air con to speak of and the hotel hasnt worked out a system of cleaning post-booking. I recommend asking for water in the gym - sometimes we got it and sometimes we didnt. A bit hit and miss. Food was good but we only had a few lunches and no dinners at the hotel. They were good at catering for our vegan and vegetarians. Breakfast on the terrace is beautiful as the views amazing. Theres no buffet currently (lots of reviews raved about the buffet so dont go for that). I dont think they have enough staff - we regularly waited 20 mins to be given menus and I found the main waiter a little rude. The staff would bring bread in a basket but no plates until they noticed we were buttering and eating the bread directly on the tablecloth. I didnt like to ask for a second cup of coffee as it seemed a real imposition and would take another 15 minutes. Id say the attitude of the breakfast staff was the only downside to the hotel. Location-wise the hotels in a good position near Salò where there are loads of restaurants and there are also some great restaurants in the hills above the hotel (they recommended Il Riolet and it was great). We did day trips to Sirmione and also to Limone and Lago di Tenno as well as an afternoon at the beach club close by called Rimbalzello where you can jump straight into the lake and get food/drinks etc. The area is beautiful and can highly recommend a visit.

Still dreaming after thirty yearsWe used to visit regularly in the eighties and nineties. Its quite a decision to return after such a long gap. However the Villa del Sogno is still near perfect. The trees are taller the view of the lake is beyond comparison. The swimming pool has been enlarged and has a small bar cafe. Our room had been recently refurbished in a traditional style. The staff are most attentive and many now speak good English. The food on the half board menu is traditional but not old fashioned and very tasty. There is also an a la Carte menu available. The wine list is well chosen and contains a few hidden jewels. The wine is served with all due deference by the ever present head waiter Florin. Dining on the terrace here is one of lifes greatest pleasures.

Outdated and discriminatory attitudeDont be fooled by the attractive facade. This hotel needs dragging in to the 20th century! We are a same sex couple and were looking to spend a relaxing 2 days at the hotel but swiftly checked out after just 12 hours. We have never be treated with such disrespect by hotel employees before. The head waiter has zero manners, treated us like second class citizens and openly argued with us at breakfast over the name of a coffee (yes really) and his air of arrogance and sneering gaze was thinly veiled, he could barley point out an available table let alone take us to be seated. While the hotel is situated in a beauty spot the interior is dated and basic. Hardly worthy of its 5 star rating. If you are in any way individual or dont fit their norm do NOT stay at this hotel. A simple scroll through some past Expedia reviews will confirm others share the same opinion.
