    Room 110 euro - worth 40 euro

This hotel was the lowlight of our otherwise great vaction in Southern Italy. The room was cold the fittings were worn and/or cheap eg: IKEA 1.99 lamps! We asked for the a/c heating to be switched on we were told it was automatic (presumably the "hand of God" was required). If only we'd been able to read the Trip Advisor reviews before hastily making the booking we would have looked elsewhere. The "breakfast" was a mean spirited affair with no buffet, cheap ingredients. This was probably for the best as lingering would mean you might pass the 10:00 checkout!!!!! Recommend you go somewhere else unless the room rate drops to below 50 euro

    A few things to know

The hotel was built in 1919, has 24 rooms and is sadly past its prime and needs help. While the rooms are comfortable enough, there are things you will want to accept BEFORE you make your reservation. Fist, the restaurant is closed. There is a continental breakfast served which is basic. There is excellent parking. The sea views from 22 of the rooms are only if you look far to the left and lean slightly over the balcony. Our view was nice, but not of the sea as we were led to believe. There is nothing they can do about this, it is what it is. They don't keep the lights on in the lobby or corridors, so the halls look very uninviting. They turn the A/C off at 1am until 6am or you can pay additional to have it run all the time. The TV is a computer monitor mounted on the wall. They give you two small soaps and two shampoos and this is all you receive for your stay. I typically don't complain about odds and ends as anyone who have read my reviews know. This hotel cost less than others and was more like a Motel 6 or Super 8 in the USA, than a $150 per night hotel. Having said that, the staff, consisting of the owner and his daughter, could not have been more helpful. She spoke passable English while dad tried but did not. The location of this hotel is very good to use as a central spot for the beach at Vietri, Pompei, climbing Mt. Vesuvius, or even a day trip into Naples. We also drove the entire Amalfi coast. If you can live with these blips, it is a decent value for the $150...vs other hotels WITH a sea view for $330. Your choice, it is very clean however. The parking and breakfast are worth about $20 a day.

    Comfy and clean.

Quaint rooms. Clean. Reasonable breakfast. Good coffee. Concierge very helpful and accommodating and spoke good English. Close to seafront and old town for restaurants. Convenient for coast road and ferries. En suite a good size.

    Stay Up Town

I hate to write reviews like this but I must. The Hotel has become quite run down and is suffering due to lack of improvements. It's priced for locals mostly due to proximity of the beach but isn't a place you necessarily need to stay unless you want to be on a vey busy route to the beach , which is quite filthy and not regularly cleaned. The hotel also was dirty and getting to our room was a challenge with our luggage. Tried to charge us 50 a day to park until we showed him our booking. The general description also says free parking. Most if not all of the room amenities were missing and the floor was quite dirty. For the price (about twice what it should cost), stay up town and visit the shops in the old town where the tourists can be found. the patio in the pictures has been given over to the family and is not kept up. Luigi is a great guy and means well so I hope he can return this place to its former glory.
