  friendly hotel

  it's a nice location on the river of the Meuse, very close to the town center. Parking at the back of the hotel ! Friendly personal welcome. Room has all the comfort, with no excessive luxury. Breakfast very good.

  Be Careful Pre-paying

  I booked this hotel for a trip me and ten of my friends went on. we prepaid as i was organizing it and when i had the money collected it was easier pay than mind it. when we arrived i was met by a woman who told me she tried to take payment that day but couldn't. i explained to her we had prepaid with the owner of the hotel and showed her the emails and receipts. after we checked in we went down town for dinner and a drink and when i got back to the hotel again around 11.30pm she insisted i pay again. i rang my bank to confirm payment went through and put her onto my bank but she insisted i paid again and she would refund me if she was wrong. it was her sons hotel and she was told take payment. i asked to speak to him but was told he was on holidays and couldn't be disturbed. i refused to pay and went to bed. the following morning it all started again. i showed her the emails and receipts again. the hotel was lovely. good location and nice rooms but i would advise anyone staying here not to prepay. It left a sour taste in our months that night and we were glad to move on the next day.

  Secluded

  This hotel is located on the North side of Quai des Fours (D949) to the West of the Town Centre, directly facing the River Meuse. It has a small private car park at the rear. It is a sister hotel to the Hotel Le Roosevelt further along the Esplanade. The hotel is spacious with nicely furnished rooms. There are pleasant patios both to the front and rear. Free WiFi is available: an access code is required from Reception. The Breakfast Room is a little cramped when full of guests and has a limited choice, but what is available is fresh and good quality. The staff ensure the Communal Coffee Pot is kept topped up. Dinner is not served: Guests are encouraged to dine at the Hotel Le Roosevelt Restaurant.

  Very noisy

  There was a conference in what we thought would be the man entrance from the car park so could not use it and the use the other entrance through a utility room. We had asked for a quiet room and were told the one would be allocated, but when we arrived we were given a room at the front over looking no the main road and river and not give a choice of a room at the back. The room was small and not very attractive. There was a kettle and two mugs but no coffee or tea, I went to reception and was given 4 tea bags but had a wait of several minutes to get a small jug of milk. The room was warm and we really needed to keep the window open, but had to close it because of the traffic continually going past. Neither of us slept very much and we were glad to check out in the morning without having breakfast.

  Warm welcome, clean and tidy, on-site bar, good motorbike parking and well located for bars and restuarants

  This was a repeat visit, having stayed here about 4-5 years ago. Again we were on our motorbikes and the small private car park at the back is a brilliant safe place to park them. This time we met the owner, as last time it was his parents looking after the place while he was on holiday. Rooms were very clean and tidy. There was a kettle and mugs, and some sugar sachets, but no tea. Coffee or milk. It was only one night and I couldnt be bothered to wander down two floors to ask for some. It was very warm, due to the heatwave in July, and we needed to keep the velux window open. The downside to this was that the curtain is built in to the window. So window open, meant curtain open and sunshine streams through early. Location is great, a short stroll to bars and restaurants (turn left as you walk out the front door), some in the streets slightly set back from the main drag, and some along the river edge if you cross over by the bridge. Previously we looked over the other side of the river but hadnt found anywhere to eat, so this time we didnt bother looking. We wouldnt hesitate to stop here again on our next bike trip in the area.
