  Comfortable family hotel

  The staff, location and breakfast buffet made for a delightful stay. The decor is a bit dated, but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. We loved the breakfast buffet, which was included with our rooms. It had a wide variety of foods to satisfy everyone in our family. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They provided towels for the beach and pool, which is a nice amenity for travelers.

  Beautiful hotel on the water. Wonderful friendly, helpful staff!!!!!

  My family and I had the pleasure of attending the Hotel Universal in July 2017. It is a beautiful hotel on the water. The best breakfast experience that we have had in Italy. We also ate one night in the hotel for dinner and the food and service was great. What really impressed us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the ENTIRE staff. The front desk staff was so wonderful and spoke fluent English. The dining staff and cleaning staff was also so friendly. A really positive tone/ vibe from the staff made for such a pleasant stay. Be sure to enjoy the beach across the street and have a dinner right next to the beach. We had a great meal at Balcar, a restaurant directly across the street from the hotel. As a bonus, we had a beautiful room overlooking the beach. We really enjoyed admiring the view from the balcony.

  Beach Tennis access to the tournament

  This hotel was okay for a 4 star hotel in Italy. The lobby was very inviting. We walked in bc we wanted to view the rooms first. They showed us a corner room on the fourth floor with a wrap around balcony for $180. We found it online for $150. There was a beautiful large pool but no indoor gym. Their gym consisted of a treadmill, a cross trainer and a stationary bike and they were underneath a tarp outside next to the pool. Breakfast was included. Nothing fancy only the basic continental breakfast, but scrambled eggs, raw bacon and pancakes. The staff in the dining room were exceptional. They had a nice assortment of fruits. Dinner was not worth the price $35pp. The head waiter made our dining experience enjoyable. He was a charming older man who spoke English and made sure we had everything we needed. The room they ended up giving us, bc we used online booking was much smaller than the corner unit, but it was sufficient and clean. There's plenty of parking on the street if you're driving.

  Wonderful place to get away !!!

  Lovely hotel with a beautiful lobby and view. Staff were all eager to please . Hotel was spotless. Rooms a little on the small side and he bed very hard. Language was not to difficult. Everyone tried there best...it was fun ! Lots to see in this area , especially the mosaic's (the best in the world ). Felt very safe walking around at anytime of the day or night. The beach is directly in front of the hotel and has a lot of vendors. Lots in walking distance and easy to navigate. Lots of restaurants and shops in area , also a laundromat a few streets away. Fantastic place to go. A definite one to g back to.

  Lovely hotel but WiFi was troublesome

  Great location opposite the beach but I was here on business and the late night noisy music meant that I had to ask to change to a room at the back of the hotel. The rooms are very clean and the staff very helpful but the WiFi sign in system didn't work on any of my devices and this was a big problem. Ok if you are on holiday but for work it caused difficulties. The breakfast is good, although the eggs are cold, even in the covered dish. The lunch and dinner are excellent value and quality and I recommend eating in. The hotel is stylish and comfortable and the covered, heated swimming pool excellent. The mattresses are quite hard, in my opinion, but I slept ok.
